Reception food: what are you serving?

We are having our reception in a restaurant banquet hall and paying for a food package that includes 2 appetizers (which we’ll have served for cocktail hour) and then a dinner buffet of 2 entrees, 2 sides, and 1 pasta option. Dessert is TBD right now but we’ll either do cake or donuts with some smaller desserts. The restaurant is letting us bring in whatever we want dessert wise! We’re also going with their full open bar option.


We’re saving thousands with this location because while it’s not the fanciest, it’s a nice room with everything we need and there’s no room rental fee!! Just the food, drink, and linens.

Our venue has a great package that includes 3 passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour, a plated dinner that includes soup, salad, pecan rolls, corn fritters, entrée choice, and cake with ice cream. Our selected entrée choices are chicken saltimbocca, prime rib, and mushroom ravioli.
