Reception Entrance Song

Gettin'Hitched, on June 5, 2014 at 10:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 29

I know there are a lot of posts like this, but I have been trolling the internet looking for ideas and haven't seen "the one" yet. So, I thought I'd give it another go. We are doing Beautiful Day for the wedding party and could just do that for us, too, but we kind of want something else for our entrance (especially since the fun of Beautiful Day, the chorus, will already have played before we are introduced).

We want something fun and a little different, not Black Eyed Peas, Not "Happy,"...we are sort of thinking, "It's in his kiss" just for something different...but aren't sold on it. (Have also considered "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Amazing"...so we are all over the place.

So, please, ladies...let me know what you are doing or if you have any other suggestions, this is the last real decision I have to make for the wedding and we are stumped!

Ours is going to be Always by Erasure. It's our song and we can't think of any other time to play it.

We discussed the Imperial March from Star Wars and carrying light sabers, then having the bridal party and us have a mock fight. We'll see...

We are doing "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder, or at least that was the plan, but I didn't think of "Always" by Erasure! That's also a song that's been a part of our relationship, but we didn't know how to fit it in the wedding without it being weird. I might mention your idea to him @Caylin!

These are great--lots of different ideas!

I love the "on top of the world" message and energy--and "today I met the man I'm going to marry" is unusual and awesome, too!

    All fun ideas, ladies!

We're using the samba breakdown from Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain"-- its really upbeat and fast paced.

Haha, @Gamecox...why am I not surprised the video is from an SC game Smiley smile (btw, that stadium looks insane)!

I do love something like that, though...a good, rile up the crowd song!

...we are huge NFL fans, so we have thought about doing the NFL theme song...I think it would be hilarious but FH isn't as "out of the box" as I am with the music Smiley winking

We're kind of thinking of Thunderstruck by ACDC played by our bag piper.

@ladymonk, we thought about that song, too...well, minus the bag piper (how awesome is that, though?) No question that's unique!

We're doing a wrestling entrance theme for our entire bridal party (sigh). Our entrance song will be Real American aka Hulk Hogan's entrance.

Okay, I have been working on my list also. Here are a few ideas and they are all over the genre plate but I think they are fun:

Another One Bites the Dust - Queen

Apache (Jump on it) by Sugarhill Gang

Now that We've Found Love - Heavy D & the Boyz

Katrina & the Waves - Walking on Sunshine

    Crazy in Love - Beyonce
