Reception Decor

Samantha, on November 6, 2019 at 2:31 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
Hey Brides!

What all are you guys looking into for reception decor?? Our reception will be in a ballroom and we have dance floor lighting and uplighting and then our table centerpieces. What else have you all done/seen/or are doing? I was looking into ceiling draping and my estimate was 9k so might not go that route even though I would love to.

THanks!

That's pretty much all I'm doing for decor. I'm hoping the beautiful room we're in will be good enough. I'm just doing simple centerpieces with floating candles in different height vases. Then the table with the card box and the guest book will have at least one or two little signs. The rest of the "decor" is my dance floor lighting and room uplighting (provided by my DJ), and maybe some other candles around the room. Our ceremony arch will be lightly decorated with faux flowers and greenery, which I will probably repurpose for the sweetheart table at the reception.

I don't think anyone is going to be looking at the ceiling, so I'm not doing anything there. Decor is one of my lowest priorities on my budget. I'm much more interested in the food and the music.

I didn't really do any decor other than centerpieces. My venue had a lot of chandeliers so I didn't really feel the need to do more

For us it's votives, table numbers, and rose petals as centerpieces, a 2' floral arrangement on the sweetheart table, Mr and Mrs sign, and candles. Our cake is extremely decorative, so the cake table will be used in an area that draws the eye. We'll add candlesticks around the cake and maybe a bit of floral. That's it.

Omg, $9k for ceiling draping? That's a stab to the heart lol Although beautiful, definitely not worth it. I'm keeping it simple with just the basic wedding signs and what not, will be using faux flowers/greenery, along with the centerpieces and candles.

Most people do draping in our venue (at least based on pics I've seen), and I've also looked at the idea of a hanging flower display. We want to replace a few of the default round tables with long wooden tables that will have a runner instead of centerpieces. Here's some other idea pics. You can also use cute signs and food displays to add decor. $9k seems steep for draping. I haven't gotten a quote yet, but I don't expect it to be anywhere near that.
