Recent Reception diy

Jennifer, on July 13, 2022 at 12:32 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 10
Just wanted to share my recent big projects for our reception. I love this seating chart with “vintage” keys (they’re also bottle openers). We are doing a sweetheart table and I’m doing our own backdrop. It’s a work in progress. Needs some ficus leaves for the top and baby’s breath. I may add more flowers on the garlands if I have any left after that top bar. My cross bar mount hasn’t come in but, there will be another bar with a white background and some LED lights. LED lights behind sheer cloth looks so ethereal! Will post the final product as soon as I finish it Smiley smile

Omg yes it has! The keys didn't take too long. Just one night, but I've been running into hiccups with the backdrop because there's just little tiny logistics that doesn't make it straightforward. Then, it was a lot of ordering and returning on Amazon for flowers that didn't look too fake or were the size I wanted.

I love it! It was a cheap one, too! The keys were like $20 for 75 pieces and comes with the tags, but I decided to buy some key chain rings, too, in that matching brass color instead of using twine. The trickiest part was finding an old ornate frame that was big, but not too expensive. This one measures about 3’ by 4’. It was a lot of perusing FB marketplace for large ornate frames or mirrors that didn’t cost like $500+ and in decent condition. I think I got this one for around $100. The backing is just two foam presentation boards stuck together and I bought some self adhesive black felt (like the ones they use for jewelry cases) and I got a bag of tiny cup hooks from Amazon for like $8. It also helps to have brush on glue to brush onto the screws of the hooks before driving them into the foam board.

You did an incredible job it looks fantastic. And if you don't want to keep the frame after the wedding (Personally I d turn into a fabulous mirror!) I bet you would have no trouble selling it. Beautiful touches!
