Reassurance after wedding dress doubts

Kelsea, on May 28, 2021 at 12:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I've been having wedding dress doubts, which I know is common. Lately I've felt the style might be too different and old-fashioned looking compared to my fiancée's dress, which is a classic strapless lace dress with ivory lace and a champagne undertone. The one I bought is also ivory, and I originally fell in love with it because it had so many things on my checklist. It has sleeves, a sweetheart style neckline, and it's super lightweight so it will be easy to move around and dance in. My dress has already come in and I've tried in on again and still like it, but that original WOW wasn't there. Is this just because it isn't fitted and it might need accessories to make it stand out? I really don't want to get married in the wrong dress, but my fiancée keeps assuring me it's perfect.

Your dress is beautiful and I love the detailing and neckline. Maybe once it’s fitted you will feel better. I also had a similar feeling with my dress but once it was fitted properly to me and I had my veil and accessories I loved it all over again.

Its very pretty. I think that once it fits correctly and you add accessories, you will get that original feeling back.

Trust me! Once they make the arms fitted and they do your hem, that dress is going to be a DIME! I don’t think it’s too old fashion either. It has a very soft modern touch. Judging from the picture of the fabric looks very nice. I kind of went through this a little bit, but it was because I kept looking at myself in the photos before the alterations. Even though I was always in love with my dress, I had my moments of doubt. But the second I looked at my dress with the alterations I was immediately in love again and felt exactly how I initially felt when I first tried it on.

It is gorgeous and I think it suits your figure as well. The neckline hits at just the right spot.

Hopefully getting the right accessories (jewelery, veil, etc.) will help you get that feeling again. Also, the sleeves being fitted will be a game changer.

I think you will feel much better about it once it has been altered.

Also, I think it's romantic that you have such different dresses from each other - showcase your own styles! Smiley smile

It's gorgeous! Once it is fitted to you it will look like perfection.

I felt similarly when I picked up my dress - I knew it would be too big because I sized up just in case, I knew it would not have the underskirts or the other details yet, and it looked a bit blah.

I don't think you can feel that overwhelming 'oh my gosh this is my dress' feeling in perpetuity, so you have to trust that you chose this dress for a reason! And from an outsider's perspective, that's because it's romantic and dreamy and with alterations to fit you will look *chef's kiss*
