It is nice you want to include him and not shoot down his request, but I think you need to. Explain that the cake should match the rest of the wedding and that a NBC topper wont fit the theme, color scheme, or style of the wedding. Maybe show him pictures of NBC groom's cakes and see if he can compromise on having one? There is no way a NBC topper wont look either holloweeny or at least very themed. Is there a reason he wants this topper? Is the movie relevant to your relationship at all? And this is NBC as in Jack right? Not even the Corpse Bride?

Yes as in jake and sally he loves that movie its his favorite and he don't want a grooms cake i told him the grooms cake he could do anything to it but no he don't want it he don't wanna spend more money on a grooms cake i love that he wants to save money lol but I've been looking and maybe we could meet in the middle with just the saying simply meant to be so fingers crossed we can agree on something like said he hasn't been picky or anything he only asked if he could wear blue jeans instead of black dress pants and now he changing that because of me so i really want to make him happy with just one thing he wants without shutting him down

Have you discussed this with your cake vendor? They might suggest ideas where it can be a small nod to ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ but not take away from the cake.

Though!!!! I think you should go with it! Maybe not a topper but the whole back of the cake? Hear me out! It sounds crazy but you could do it! See the pictures below. Honestly, if you have the money, I think your FH would be touched.
Really don't know what to do 1LOOK! It’s a Nightmare Before Christmas wedding cake and you can’t tell unless you turn it around. This goes to show you... brides can make anything work.

That is a super cute idea because it’s more of a subtle way of getting that theme in.

I think you should let him have it! It would be so personal and cute, especially if your friends/family know his love for the movie. I am surprising FH with Batman pepping out of our cake. It’s his favorite movie, ever. Everyone will love it and how personal it is.

Gotcha! Well I love the hidden/dual cake idea! And the silhouette topper is at least more subtle if you are worried about your wedding colors still.

    This one is pretty cute!

Oh I see. Maybe do Jack & Sally peeping out, like our batman? I see what your saying about Halloween and such.

Another is idea is to let him have nightmare before Christmas socks instead of a cake topper. He could still show his love for the movie without it being on full display. Also, most people don’t even go look at the cake. It’s more for you two. So I wouldn’t worry about others opinions about it. Do what makes you both happy.

The silhouette idea is cute. Hope he picks it especially w the different colors in ur theme. A jack and sally topper might have went well on a white cake.

A lot of people do a grooms cake as well as a wedding cake. You could do a nightmare before Christmas grooms cake for him so he feels honored and special since it is both of your big day.

I think as brides or any other person in charge of coordinating, we notice these details more than any guest. Even if it’s not matching, it will garner questions and guests will ask which one you enjoys the movie so much in an entirely positive/curious way. I think you should let him have it! I agree with previous post though where they suggest you use a silhouette topper. You don’t even have to have it completely Nightmare before Christmas. If you want, you can have the custom topper with a traditional bride next to a Jack silhouette. I hope whichever decision you make you guys are both happy and enjoy your day Smiley smile good luck!

I say let him have the topper. We're having a lady and the tramp topper - there's no need for it to fit a theme other than it matches you guys. I also bought my FH. Groom's cake even though he originally told me he didn't want one, fully intending on surprising him. The silhouettes are also a good compromise - a nod to the film but still classy.

I say get the cake topper! If it's one of the few things he's requesting and really wanting, do it!!! There are some very beautiful acrylic Nightmare Before Christmas cake toppers (check out Etsy) that are simple and still elegant and would definitely go with your theme. I will say we got married in November too and my colors were navy blue and red with gold accents. I did a black acrylic cake topper and I think it looked just fine! If you do the cake topper he wants, you can still do a more formal cake that goes with the rest of the wedding and have it all come together nicely. I think it would be just fine! There's nothing that says you can't do things exactly the way you want with your own touches and your own personal flair. That keeps it unique and makes it special to you guys. I found these cake toppers when I searched and thought either would be nice.
