Random wedding things

Has anyone come across a list of all the random odds and ends you need for a wedding? (Toasting flutes, etc) there are a million things my mom keeps asking me if I have and I'm just like ugh why? Do I need that? Lol

OMG I had such a big argument with my mom about the guestbook. I want to do like a thumbprint tree thing so I have a piece of art to hang up in my house afterwards and she insisted on a book. I was like why? So I can put it in a box and never look at it again

I skipped a lot of that stuff! No guestbook, no signs, no special toasting flutes, no cake cutting. 5 months since the wedding and still zero regrets.

I'm sure there will be more come up but nothing yet. We will get our toasting flutes for free from our engravers who are also doing our guestbook

Omg yes! My grandmother asked if we had our cake cutting set and I told her I was just going to get one from the dollar store and she about had a heart attack! I said there is no way I'm spending more then $10 because I will not be displaying them! And I was trying to get out of the bouquet toss but so many of my unmarried friends were upset by this... so I guess I have to buy that too! Lol

I never found (or looked for) a list but here are some small things I have on my list:

cake serving set (I got mine on amazon for $12)
    Cake topper
Toasting flutes (I’m passing on these)
guest book (if doing one) —pens!
    card box
    cards & gifts sign
Picture frame (for picture at in memory of table)
    sign stands
small arrangements for card table, cake table & bar
    dessert table stands (for cupcakes)
    drink dispensers

I feel like special toasting flutes and cake cutting sets are a tradition of the past.. I asked my fiancé if he cared and he had no idea what the big deal is. Neither do I.. we don’t drink champagne normally or eat cake a lot (sadly) so why have a special tool for it that was used once? We’ll already have so many amazing momentos of the wedding, these things will just collect dust.

Alternately, maybe your grandma will loan you hers? Turn it into a “something old/borrowed” moment.

You don’t need a lot of it. Ask your venue for cake serving utensils. Just use their champagne flutes too. Skip a guestbook and favors. And the garter/bouquet toss. That’ll save a little money. 😊
