Wow, I was going to post a pic of a rainbow wedding cake I’ve seen and I found so many ideas. Who knew?!

Are you thinking of the theme in terms of items with the arch of the light spectrum colors, or of using uplighting or hanging prisms to make real ones? Curious. At a couple of weddings and a ball with Aurora Borealis " Northern lights" as themes, people who did not know what they were thought the uplighting was to make rainbows. And I thought, fun theme.

Thinks thats a good idea...rainbows are bright, promising, colorful...no matter what your doing or mad at so far Ive observed many stop in their tracks to look and nowadays with advatage of technology take pictures...so with that a cool loving theme...your mind may get carried away. ...its okay let it...a good way to get out all the clutter thoughts then the best ones can shine...I had 2 years to plan...So if have good timinig lot of ideas out there for rainbows but dont forget to incorporate YOUR ideas into it as well...Congratulations on your engagement!!!

I’m not a sure what her official theme was, but my friend did rainbow(ish), and her wedding was really nice/semi formal. Just as with any theme, it can be done you just have to figure out how 😊

There is a lot you can do with a rainbow theme! I've seen pictures where each member of the wedding party wore a different color dress, or where each reception table is a color rather than a number (for example, a guest might be assigned to the red table, instead of table #3), or so many options for wedding cakes (a previous comment already posted a few great ideas). Some more random ideas -


* bridesmaids dresses all in the rainbow colors (lined up in the right order of course)
* “pot of gold” favors, little gold colored pots/containers with gold wrapped chocolate coins inside
* “somewhere over the Rainbow” HAS to play at some point
* you know how there’s that photo of groomsmen with special socks peeking out? Groomsmen in rainbow colored socks
* lots of different colored lanterns (Chinese lantern style)...looks a little nicer than balloons and they’re pretty cheap!

I think this could be done very tastefully!

Just a few things that come to mind: rainbow cake decor, alternating napkins/chair sash covers, uplighting, flowers, favors (think M&Ms or Skittles in boxes/baggies), and your bridal parties dresses/ties.

Are you thinking of having everything be rainbow are you going to do more settle ?

if your going to have a settle maybe you can do the bridesmaids cake and have a candy bar mn,s skittles things like that

I was looking at rainbow ideas a while back when my sister was originally planning to have a rainbow wedding. So many beautiful things you could do with this theme. 😍

My cousin had a tie-dye/rainbow themed wedding and it was very fun! It was casual, backyard style which definitely lended itself to the theme but everyone had a lot of fun with it. All guests dressed in tie-dye which also gave us a fun activity leading to the wedding! It's definitely for a certain personality type, but for them, it really worked.

This would be so fun!! I LOVE colorful weddings and I don't see enough of them represented on social media! I've felt like through my planning experience that everyone likes very muted or monochrome colors these days, while I want lots of bright happy colors!

I wonder why I didn't see this post earlier, I'm having a rainbow themed wedding myself. xD;;;
