Rain on my wedding day!?

Charlotte, on August 4, 2019 at 10:38 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
So I looked at the forecast and it’s a 40% chance of rain on my wedding day (Saturday)!!! I live in Washington so it’s not shocking if it does rain here. I really hope it doesn’t. I’m thinking it’s going to ruin the pictures we’re planning on taking. I have a professional photographer and I know she knows what to do in these situations. Still a little nervous. I don’t want to get my expensive dress and hair wet! Lol 😂 Here’s to thinking happy thoughts and it won’t rain. Thank you for listening. 🙏🏿

Think positive! Praying for good weather on your special day. BTW I’ve heard rain in your wedding is good luck but I know nobody wants that.

My wedding is in september and i started tracking the weather so i get it. However you cant control the weather and cant let it stress you out. Your photographer is a prob and knows exactly how to handle these situations

My wedding is 9/1 and the farmers almanac predicts thunderstorms. My wedding is outside ceremony and I also do not want my dress ruined, however I can’t fret over the weather because I always joke and say it will rain on my wedding day! Just my luck. Hope for the best and forget the rest. If it rains then it rains. It is said to be good luck! Maybe we will win the lottery after lol

It POURED on our wedding day. I was a little bummed, ceremony & cocktail hour had to moved inside. But it made for some amazing pictures and at the end of the day, we were so happy. My only regret was not buying those cute clear umbrellas for pictures. My hair and dress and train and veil got wet, everything was fine!

We’re having our ceremony in a church and the cocktail hour/reception is indoors also. Just a little worried how it’s going to work out for pictures. However my photographer is a professional and I just need to have trust in her. Whatever happens, happens as far as the weather is concerned. Like ppl have said you can’t control it. Still very excited for my wedding rain or not! 🥳Beautiful pictures and I am buying some big ol’ clear umbrellas today just in case. 😀

Rain actually adds to the depth of the color in pictures and they come out gorgeous. I'm sure your photographer will know how to handle it and it's considered good luck!

I was married in an outdoor ceremony and we had a very (VERY!) light sprinkle but it made for some awesome pictures. No squinting, no shadows, etc. Please get all that worry out of your head as you can't control the weather!!! My biggest complaint is my hair is VERY fine and soft and the humidity took some of the zip out of my do. But oh well......it is just hair, ya know?

Plus: rain is supposed to be good luck as it washes away your pasts and you start new together!! (My groom and I were 52 when we wed, he for the first time, so this really applied to us!!!) Smiley heart
