Raffle at wedding?

miss, on September 30, 2018 at 7:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Our reception is small with only family. We are doing the reception at a private room in a local restaurant. Because we don’t have any any dancing, we were thinking about doing raffle prizes. Guests would get a free raffle ticket and we would just draw names throughout the night. Prizes would be free movie tickets, gift cards, wine bottles, etc. Is this a good idea? What’s your opinion?

I actually really like this idea. It will keep your guest engaged without the dancing.

I think that's a great idea! Guest would love that and who doesn't love winning prizes? Go for it! Hope you're day is a beautiful one for you!

I am thinking of doing something like this with lottery scratchers. My FH loves to gamble, and he is always scratching tickets. Something like this would be the prize but decorated to match our wedding

I also want to mention we are skipping the favors and using that money toward raffle prizes instead. Guests can also take home centerpieces which are candles. Is it bad to skip wedding favors? I figured raffles would make up for it?

I think this is a great idea! Super fun. You didn’t ask me to add to it but just a thought lol, maybe play some games and let people win some prizes that way too? A interactive portion for your guest in lieu of the dancing.

I think skipoing favors is oerfectly fine. Most of the weddings I’ve been to the favors get left behind anyway haha.

Sounds like a cool idea and alternative that works out good since it wont be any dancing
