Planned a backyard "emergency" wedding in my FIL's back yard in 5 weeks. It is on Saturday. Thankfully, I had help since my parents are retired and bored but it can definitely be done.

That’s awesome! I planned my dad’s in 7 weeks last October. Both being held here at my own home. I know it can be done. I think if I could just find a dress I wouldn’t feel like it was hopeless.

You can do it!! Go get a dress ASAP though, even if you have to buy off the rack as cleaning and alterations can take 3-4 weeks even with rush. Good luck!!

Wow! 7 weeks to plan a wedding is incredible. Props to you! Where do you plan on getting your dress from? I am sure you can find something lovely that will arrive in time for your big day!

My friend did hers in three months but she bought those kind of all inclusive packages at a venue so it made it easier. It was more expensive though.

I’ve already ordered 5 dresses and hated all of them. I have 2 more on the way. Plan B is to do the dreaded dress shop try and buy racks 😞

We didn’t want to spend a bunch of money. We are getting married at a beach nearby then having a big party in the backyard. We want to spend the money on our honeymoon 😍

I must have ordered 20 dresses online hand absolutely hated them all. I was looking for something very simple since I already have my fancy dress for our originally planned (and still happening) November wedding that FMIL insisted I save for November. I am also not a dress person at all and the reason behind all of this is kind of sad which just made me not want to do it that much more. I ended up finding one at JC Penny when I went with my FSIL to look for a dress for FMIL (who has a hard time leaving the house now). I think that was my biggest hurdle too, once I had that everything else just seemed to fall into place.

I planned my wedding for 55 people in 10 weeks and it was a destination wedding. Not easy and I was totally stressed but I got it done. I didn’t have any help because my daughter was my bridesmaid and my family was super busy with other stuff. Ask for help where you can. Good luck.

Hazel and Olive (online boutique) carries inexpensive wedding dresses! I've order other clothes from there and have always been please with the quality. They have several right now for under $150.

Actually, you might find that the dress shopping in person and buying off the rack isn’t so bad! I was engaged June 29th and we’re getting married November 2nd...so, we have almost four months, but I went to two boutiques on July 5th and tried on about 20 dresses. Let me tell you, there are some boutiques that have gorgeous off the rack dresses! I bought mine off the rack, but it helped to try a bunch on in one place and get an idea as to what I liked on me...because a dress you see in pictures or one you have in mind as your dress may not even come close to what makes you feel amazing when you try it on. You can do it!!🙌

My SIL planned her wedding in that much time. She actually made her dress herself, but you can go to a bridal store and buy off the rack. I know you mentioned you keep buying online and not liking them... it also might help if you go to a store and try on dresses and see what looks best on you then order a dress that's similar if you didn't want to buy off the rack.

We are also planning a "wedding" in 7weeks! We were originally planning a wedding two years ago but it quickly became too expensive, more than I realized and decided to hold off for while. We were going to wait a few more years until we could really afford it, but literally last Sunday I told my fiance "let's just elope!" And so that's what we are doing. We live in CT but will be eloping in the White Mountains in NH on Cathedral Ledge and we are do thrilled!

I'm in a situation close to that. but for me it's 5 months. I'm doing it with no help which is stressful and hard.

So far, all returnable. I ordered a sample from Azazie, and several from Amazon.
