Question about the knot wedding websites

Pinotgirl, on April 14, 2015 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Apparently when I was first engaged I started a wedding website through the knot and its somehow linked to my registry. I went today and noticed its only half complete and I was going to work on it but when I click on "wedding website" on the knot its not coming up. Is there a trick or is the site down?

I'm not sure, but I do know that even if you never go on the knot once you set up a registry they automatically have a website generated for you with the registries listed. I had this problem because my knot account is made with a special wedding email I made, but I couldn't link any registries to it because they had auto created one for my regular email...

Ugh, I am so bad with this stuff. I know shower invites went out so I want to fix it before too many people see it.

I had to email their customer service to get mine disabled and used Wedding Wire instead. They were pretty helpful, so I'm sure they could assist.

I have a knot wedding website too (I wish I didn't but that's a whole different story). You have to make sure you are logged in and sometimes it shows that I'm logged in but I'm really not. If you click on my knot or something like that, you'll have a chance to sign back in and then you're information comes up on the side and you can get to the website portion.

I had one also before I discovered WW (which I like better) They make you email them to get to cancelled and then told me it takes 24-48 for it to disable. My sister googled me (trying to find my current Website) and she found the knot one instead.

Don't take this the wrong way... but why are you asking about The Knot's wedding website on WeddingWire and not on the Knot help forums?

Because a lot of people use both here. I have a knot wedding website and I don't ever go to The Knot forums.

Because I know a lot of the ladies on here use both sites. Did my question bother you for some reason?

@Pinotgirl, that's super weird. When I go on, it pauses and flashes the basic page but then it loads my website. I would give it a day and then email. Weird.

Its like going to Target and asking customers what is going on at Walmart. Yeah, some might cross-shop but not really the place to get solid info...

It's common sense, why not ask the hosting company or scour their Q&A to see if you can fix the problem. You can post once somewhere to gather information without having to frequent... that's what they are there for.

    ETA: This should help.

Well. From what I've gathered, The Knot is not as nice as us. And that's probably saying a lot...

If you don't use the knot at all they will still publicly post your registries to Google even if they are listed private.

But common sense says if a site has errors you contact the website via yhe contact us link or faqs.

I had to delete my knot account to get my registry stuff straight.
