Put deposit on a wedding dress, now I'm freaking out

front of dressPut deposit on a wedding dress, now I'm freaking out 1

I had it on, probably the 9th dress I tried, and I had the biggest smile. I knew it was everything I wanted (without knowing I had wanted it), fit and flare, beading, embroidery, a light champagne undertone (not noticeable in photos). There was one component of the dress that drew me to it, and that was the unique neckline. This component is also the reason I'm freaking out. I never thought I'd want to walk down the isle with a high neckline, even though there is something sexy, sassy, and regal about it. Now, three days after the appointment and after leaving a 60% deposit on the dress, I am having major doubts. I can't picture what my hair would look like, I cant imagine not having a strapless dress, I can't imagine having a choker look on my wedding day! Today is Monday, and naturally the bridal salon is closed, I will call them to see what I should do about my fear of the neckline... do ANY of you ladies have any feed back on my doubts/fears? I don't know if I'm nitpicking, after all, after I was all smiles, I was all tears. I just don't know how to get over this neckline hump...I'm even freaking out about bridesmaids dresses because I don't have a clue what style would compliment my dress. Can I do anything about this buyers remorse? Will the store allow me to put my 60% deposit toward another dress? I'm all over the place here and as much as I listen to my friends and how they think how lovely this dress is, I just can't get any of their comments to stick.

HELP!

You can wear your hair half up, down, up. There are tons of hairstyles you could do with your dress. Don't worry. The main thing is do you love your dress, do you feel like you in it?

That is stunning! You look gorgeous! I'm personally a huge fan of high necklines and am wishing I'd gone with one myself!

If you're seriously regretting it, I would call the store ASAP just to see what your options are. You don't want to wait and then have it possibly be too late.

I think a lot of girls have slight dress regret though, or get worried about a certain element of the dress once it's out of sight. If you honestly loved everything about it when you put it on, then I'm sure you'll still love it when you put it back on.

Thank you for your feed back, even when I had it on, and teared up, and loved it, I kept asking repeatedly about if "the neckline was ok". Sure, it suits me, yes its lovely, but I kept thinking (and still thinking) how it might overpower everything. SO difficult.

The dress is beautiful but if you change your mind about the neckline it looks like it could be removed and still have the lace pattern on the chest area. I think the choker element is a bit distracting from the rest of the dress.

I love your dress. Just try to call the store and see what you can do. If your unable to get your deposit back or use it towards another dress you can always have the neckline altered. It would be an easy fix to removed the choker part of your dress.

Your over thinking it. Any hairstyle will be beautiful with that dress. I had a friend that had a dress very close to your, she did 1/2 up 1/2 down and she looked incredible! An up do and down will all look great also. Any dress the bridesmaids wear will look great with that dress. I wouldn't stress about something like this, you will look beautiful for your wedding and it will all work out.

The dress is amazing! I was nervous after putting down the deposit in my dress too, but after I tried it on again I fell in love with it all over again. It’s a huge expense, and once money is on the line it’s more real. If the dress gives you the biggest smile and it’s everything you want than you have nothing to be worried about.

I think it's totally natural to have these feelings. But that dress is gorgeous! You look great, and as long as you felt great wearing it, then you shouldn't worry. The dress I fell in love with was way different than the style I originally had my heart set on. It's all about how you feel in the dress.

You look beautiful! I would call and ask if you can stop by and try it on again, if you feel just as excited as you did the first time it will put your mind at ease. Some salons will work with you this early on because the dress hasn't gone into production yet.

Omg. I love this dress on you. Looks lime it was made for you. Don't stress yourself out. Call the salon and ask them these questions. See if you can try it on one more time, just to be sure you don't want it.

Your dress is gorgeous and is different than so many dresses seen day after day. You see strapless dresses everywhere and there's nothing special about them. There is something special about your dress. Dare to be different!

Don't panic. There's a reason you felt so strongly about the dress that you purchased it. It's interesting and unique. The only way to find out if you can change your order is through the salon.

You're overthinking it. If this is the dress you decided on, then you love it for a reason. You didn't want to take it off once you tried it on which means that's the one.

Take a look at updos or half-up hairstyles on Instagram. Also very simple earrings. Anything else would compete with the dress.
