Any of my ladies on here struggle with psoriasis like me? I have it on the back of my head on my hair line and a little on my neck. Any of my ladies on here struggle with psoriasis like me? I have it on the back of my head on my hair line and a little on my neck. I feel like I have to wear my hair down because I'll look "crusty" or something with it showing. My FH has helped me try so many things but I feel like I just can't get it under control. Anyone who has it or a skin condition have an advice? I can post a photo if it will help.

ETA: spelling & words sorry lol

I've had it my whole life. When I was younger it was everywhere, now it's just my scalp and elbows. It appears to growing in the corner of my eye now too -_- I use Tgel (cvs brand) and a prescription ointment. It still shows but I'm not letting it control my wedding day. I'll be wearing my hair up!

@Jacks I haven't tried that yet! May need to bring that up to my derm. Half up half down is what I'm leaning towards. Smiley smile

Sorry you ladies deal with this too! It really sucks

I was worried about the same thing! I have psoriasis around my hairline. I happened to go to the doctor and she prescribed Clobetosal, a steroid cream. It has cleared my skin! I would get some and try it out and then start applying about 2 weeks before the wedding.

Look up Minera Dead Sea Salt Smiley smile The last month or so I've had a pretty bad flare up on my armpits (it really sucks). I've noticed it starts to itch when I get stressed/irritated...and the past couple of months have been stressful with work and wedding planning. My diet isn't the best either, so I've just started to make a change this week...hopefully it helps!

Joleen, just a thought, is it only in your armpits? If yes, it could be an allergy to the active ingredient in anti-perspirant. If you've been seen by a good specialist, then ignore me. : )

I have mild psoriasis on my ears/neck and the only thing that helps is a steroid cream that the dermatologist prescribes

I have had serious skin issues all my life, including plaque psoriasis and eczema. I get psoriasis in the same place! Cortisone (prescription) helps it feel better but it's mostly for eczema. I get this spray called psor-Val off Amazon! Mind you it stings a lot when you spray it on and I use it before bed cuz it's oily, but if you use it consistently it clears it up!! Mine usually comes on with stress so I'm worried about that getting close to my wedding, but it's the only thing that's worked for me!

I also have psoriasis all over my scalp, behind my ears, and sometime it flares up in my eyebrows. So far the best thing has been betamethasone gel that the derm prescribed. It gives me instant relief from the itching and the flare up usually goes away within a day or 2. I'm just really inconsistent, which is not good because consistency is the key when it comes to these steroid gels/creams

Joleen, sorry to hear you're so affected. Ignore me then. Contact dermatitis in the armpits can get confused for other conditions.

I get it on my cheeks. I'm so self conscious about it. I use Cetaphil daily face wash and Cetaphil eczema moisturizer to help. And I wouldn't normally condone it, but being in the sun or tanning bed really helps to clear it up.

My FH has psoriasis and he gets very self conscious since it's on his scalp and he usually has short hair. We've noticed it's worse when he's stressed so we work to keep him calm. He recently started using coconut oil, which has smoothed both his skin and hair.

My FH has it horribly. The dermatologist was useless, trying all sorts of creams and stuff that had to be put on then covered and left for 12 hours, blah, blah. They didn't work. He was referrerd to a rheumatologist who put him on Methotrexate and it started clearing up dramatically. He is also on Humira (for psoriatic arthritis) and that has also kept him clear. I'm not much help because nothing worked for him other than these meds.

I have eczema and right now it's the worst that it's ever been. I use Aveeno's Eczema formula because it helps calm the skin, but I also use Coconut Oil and I recently started using Shea Butter. I haven't noticed a dramatic difference but it is helping.

Please see a dermatologist if you aren't working with one already.

Steroid cream use is not the permanent answer- It thins your skin over time.

I've heard that charcoal is the way to go. My mom has had psoriasis for 30 years, and recently she started using psoriasin (which has charcoal in it) and it cleared up a lot of her psoriasis. She still has problem areas, but there is one spot in particular that has bothered her for forever and it is GONE. It's like miracle stuff.

My FH has psoriasis on his back and legs. He isn't very consistent in using treatments but I make him a cream with natural shea butter and essential oils and that seems to help with the itching and redness. I will put tea tree, jojoba, almond, coconut and castor oil in the shea butter. I am trying to get him to more to more natural products such as soap but its a hard task
