This would totally bother me if someone did this at our wedding!

Agreed. If the bride & groom are in on it (Duggars..), then that's different, but if it's a surprise, I'd be PISSED.

I hate this so much. Even with the absolute approval of the b&g it's still wrong. This is not your event to hijack and these are not your guests. They shouldn't be forced to be witness to such indulgence.

I disagree. The person being proposed to can never be in on it. You have no idea how they may react. I'd be absolutely mortified to be proposed to at someone else's wedding.

I wouldn't mind as long as it was closer to the end of the reception.

Wrong in every way. The "engage-ee" should get their own day, not two minutes before you cut the cake.

    Totally rude.

Omg this my worst fear! All this time, energy and money went to make this moment the best days our our lives and you are going to swoop in and use it for your own use! Uh no! I will send you a bill! I don't know why people think this is cute! It is not! And it totally takes away from the new bride to be! Just RUDE! Total Kanye and Taylor swift moment "I am going to let you finish and have your own wedding, but first let me say this is the best proposal of all time" bahahaha

Celia, you're right. I never thought about how the person being proposed to would feel either! I would be mortified.

Haha I can see why this would bother people, but if is done towards the end of the wedding... wayyy after we cut the cake... like after last call for alcohol... then I wouldn't mind, lol. People get inspired during weddings! Spread the love!!!

That's incredibly rude to propose at someone else's wedding.. Its their special day, don't take it away from them.. my BIL to be and his wife chose the day after we told everyone we were engaged to tell people that they were pregnant (and had been for 4 weeks) and while we're happy for them, it completely stoke the spotlight from us for a few days and really knocked the wind out of my sails.. please if anyone is considering stealing the spotlight from another person's wedding.... don't.

The person being proposed to should have his or her own day and moment.

I really hate this whole idea.

I have a friend who proposed at another friends wedding, but thankfully it was the Bride's idea and the girl being proposed to was her MOH/Best friend.

Even though that was the case, i side eyed the shit out of that.

I would absolutely prefer to know about it before hand but I think in the moment I would be so happy for my friends that I wouldn't be bothered. I'm not hell bent on it being all about me. Ceremony yes. The rest is just a big party.

It is so rude and awkward! Everyone is going to immediately look to the bride and groom to see how they react and it leaves tension in the air for the rest of the night.

I agree with the above. As the Engagee I would be mortified and want my own day. As the Bride, I would be pissed ha.
