I love reading proposal stories!

When my fiance proposed it was Father's day 2019. I had just gotten my period and the pain was really bad. We were going to drop off my father's card and his father's. I was in the house in pain and he was in the car and called me and told me to come down that he had medicine in the car if I needed it. He said right before I came out side it was raining but then it cleared and the sun came out when I went outside. I thought that was such a sweet detail he told me. And I was in so much pain complaining hoping the medicine kicked in. And he kept telling me how beautiful I was that day which I thought was so adorable. I had just did my hair the day before so I was all "you must really like this hair". LMAO. So he tell me to go into the glove box because there's medicine in there just in case I need it. I told him I'd taken some already but he kept insisting. So I was like okay. Maybe he wants to make sure its the right one. Looked in the glove box and didn't see any medicine and he said look again in the corner "it's in a white box". Now I was shocked at this point and picked up the box and was like "noooo, really??" and I started crying before I even opened it. Mind you were were driving this entire time LMAO! Then I finally open it and it's my dream ring. I cry even more and then I just keep saying "i love you i love you i love you" and then there's a moment and I say "you gotta ask me something?" he laughs and says "i was waiting for you to finish" (crying that is HAHA) and then he asks me to marry him. Of course I say yes and that day meant more to me than he even knows. I was in a really bad car accident when I was young and was always jittery and anxious because of it. Ever since that day driving has been such a pleasant memory out of a bad one.

I can't wait to be his wife April 2021.

February 8, 2019 was our 29th birthday. Yes, my fiancé and I have the same exact birthday. So we had planned a birthday dinner and get together with his parents coming down to my parents house. Earlier that day I had asked if we wanted to exchange gifts then (at like 2pm) or later and he said later. His sister also wasn’t originally coming from work but then he told me she was able to leave work early to celebrate with us. Both of those things made me wonder for a second “is he proposing tonight?!” And then I stopped myself because I didn’t want to get my hopes up. So later we went to Olive Garden with my family and then his parents and sister met us at home. My stepmom had made him a cookie cake and she made me lemon bars. I was served my lemon bar and sat in my dads chair, the center of the room. As I took a small bite Ben gave me a napkin and almost immediately my stepmom says “sweetheart you’ve got powdered sugar all over your face you need to wipe it off”. I shrugged it off because I was so focused on eating my lemon bar and I just didn’t care. And then Ben says “you might want to use the whole napkin, like open it up.” As I open the napkin, with food in my mouth, I see “will you marry me?” written on the inside of it and he’s on his knee with the most gorgeous ring and used my full name and said “...will you marry me?” I couldn’t swallow my food because I was so shocked and excited. As soon as I pulled myself together I said “of course I will!” After that it was us calling our family instead of them calling us for our birthday and telling them we just got engaged. It was perfect! My dad, stepmom, two brothers, his parents and sister were there for share it with us. It was truly the best birthday gift.

I love your story! So sweet!!

We live in Nashville and my fiancé sings downtown on Broadway at the Honkey Tonks some nights. He had a gig on the NFL draft night and there 200,000 people downtown, it was raining and it was a Thursday. He told me that their band was shooting a promo video that night and some of our friends would be there. No local goes to broadway because it’s such a touristy thing. Especially not when it’s raining and I had been working all week. It was my birthday weekend and we were leaving to spend a weekend in gatlinburg the next day. To support him I decided to rally and come out! I told him he needed to give me a birthday shout or so I could get free drinks though lol. We met up with friends and I was dancing and having a good time. Interjection: we met at one of his gigs. He jumped off stage and sang the song “forget you” to me (which is hilariously ironic) and he dropped to his knees during the bridge of the song. Okay, back to the proposal night: he made an announcement that it was my birthday weekend and that he wanted to sing this song to me again because he sang it to me when we met. During the bridge he pulled me on stage (which I assumed would be my birthday shout out) he dropped to his knees again during the bridge but this time it was one knee. He changed the lyrics and sang his proposal! The band stopped playing right after he sang “will you marry me?” And the whole packed bar started cheering. I was a balling mess and couldn’t get words out but I nodded yes. I looked into the crowd and saw my friends and family from all over the country who traveled to be there. My fiancé arranged it all and everyone went to brunch the next day. It was the most amazing proposal I could have imagined and perfect for us. He made sure I had my nails done, which I thought was for my birthday trip. the “promo” photographer was for us and then we had the weekend in gatlinburg to celebrate. So so perfectSmiley smile

So long story short, I met my husband in December of 2014. We actually Met on the dating app meet me. well my birthday is January 16th and the weekend of my birthday we actually moved in together, I was pregnant. It happened before I met him and that in itself is a very long story. My son was the production of a rape. Well in February of 2015 I came down with a double kidney infection, kidney stones, and staph in my urine. I was in the hospital for a week in the labor and delivery department. on the third or fourth day that we were there at the hospital the nurses said that he could Wilmer on the hospital in a wheelchair as long as I wasn't gone for longer than an hour. oh and by the way the entire time that I was at the hospital he stayed there, he never left my side, even though we had only been dating for a month and a half. We went to the gift shop, we were just looking around killing time, so I wasn't stuck in the hospital room the whole time. We were just happened to be looking at the jewelry and all that they had in the glass case. I had seen this really beautiful ring that had clear CZ diamonds around a pear-shaped pink larger CZ diamond, and I was totally in love with it. well it was getting time for me to have to be back to the l&d department, so we left and went back up to the room. Later on that night I ended up getting really hungry and wanted some fast food, so he had left and went and got it. When he came back, we sad and watch TV while we ate our food. I had went and taking a shower after we got done eating, when I came back he had cleaned the room, made the nurses change my sheets, he snuck down to the vending machines and got me chocolate. I have diabetes so it was not that big of a deal but kind of a no no oh, and I had been craving chocolate. and he had the room nice and everything and he was sitting in the chair playing on his phone and I laid down in bed turn relaxed because I wasn't feeling good and I was hurting a lot, he scooted closer to the bed and held my hand and told me he loved me and I replied that I loved him too. And I looked up at him and he was just kind of staring at me and I asked what was wrong, and he just kept staring at me. So I LOL and he did too so we both just sat there laughing for a minute and then he took my hand and kissed it and held it to his face. He looked at me and told me that he knew that it only been just a few months and that I was pregnant with a child that wasn't his but he didn't care, he told me that he knew the odds were stacked against us but he was determined to beat them. He said even though it's only been a short amount of time it seems like forever. And that if such a short amount of time could seem like forever he wanted to know what forever would seem like. And he pulled the ring out of his pocket and told me that I was his eternity, and he was certain that he never wanted to lose me or our son. And I immediately was surprised and shocked and cried and cried and cried and said of course why would I not want to. And then we sat in my hospital room and ate chocolate together.

He beats himself up sometimes because the ring was only twenty bucks and I was in the hospital pregnant with our son and that it wasn't some big fairytale happy ending proposal from the story books. He tells me all the time that he wished she could have given me more, because at the time we were sleeping on a twin size daybed in his father's living room and neither one of us was employed, we didn't have a car, we didn't have a plan, we had no clue what was going to happen, or what the future was going to bring. But the one thing that was for sure out of all of the other things that was going on at the time, was that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I've always been a very simple very low-maintenance kind of girl, so I didn't really want some big thing, it would have been nice, yes but that's not what matters to me. The only thing that matters to me is he calls my son his own and was the only person there the day my son was born, and that he loves me for me and doesn't want to change me and to anyone else, that no matter what happens or where we go I've got him and he has me. That's the only thing that matters. I really couldn't have asked for a better man and even though sometimes he doesn't see it the proposal that he gave me was more than perfect.

My fiancé planned this big canoe trip, which I was absolutely terrified of bc I had never even been in one! It was 24 miles over 2 days!! That evening we were staying at a very rustic treehouse proposal Stories! what's yours? 1

(no power, water, etc). For entertainment, he had brought what turned out to be an autoharp!! He had apparently taught himself to play over the past year. He serenaded me in the treehouse with a few songs then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was so sweet and so different! 💕

Christmas Eve 2019. We have been together almost 8 years. We had been looking at engagement rings for a few months, but nothing too major, as we were just looking online at styles and such. Christmas Eve came and we were at my aunts house, it just so happens a few days before I had received a Cricut from my future in laws for Christmas, so I said to my aunt “guess what I got for Christmas!” She says “an engagement ring?” I said “oh.. no, haha, a Cricut” and we laughed and started talking about crafting. Fast forward to that night and we are at my parents house. I’m from a small town that has one gas station and it closes early. So it’s like 10 or so and my mom says she wants to run to town to get a soda from the soda machine. I didn’t think much of it, I had just put on some pajama pants and a new robe I received from my parents as a gift. So a few minutes later we are headed to town, thankfully I took off the robe, but not my pj pants! Haha. We are at the soda machine which is right next to where we met, and he says “my mom wants a picture of us Infront of where we first met” and I kept saying not tonight cause I looked like crap and was in pajamas and he kept saying no it’s fine blah blah blah yano. So as we pull up to the front of the store, my mom goes in the middle of the street to “take the picture” and my fiancé then says “okay, this isn’t a picture” and gets down on one knee, and with the biggest smile and tears in his eyes, he asked me to marry him, and of course, I said YES. And the whole thing was recorded. 😚

I told my FH that I was going to fly home to San Diego to watch my nieces softball game. She was playing in her first game of the season in April 2017 and he said he’s go with. I wasn’t expecting him to since it was just a day and half thing (we live in Vegas and the flights are only an hour). We arrange everything with my family that we both are now coming and the dog too.

We get ready to go to the game in the morning and I remember asking him why he was bringing his jean jacket, it’s so nice out! (duh, he’s stashing the ring in there!) We get to the field and this field is where I grew up playing softball. It was my home away from home. My favorite place to be. He asks me to go take a picture with him by the stairs (loooong stairs from the parking lot to the actual field. I say no let go so we don’t miss anything. We (dog, Simba, Too) meet up with my parents, brothers, sister, her husband and two daughters (one is playing). FH asks me to go take a picture at short stop (my position) and asks my brother to take a photo/video. We get over there (still in sight of family) and he gets down on knee and asks me to marry him. It was cute! The first thing I said was “Is that the ring I wanted?’ Then ‘Yes!’ No tears from anyone. Just a few ‘about times’ lol it was great that everyone was there, including our dog. My brother in law was able to snap a photo from a distance too. That field will always hold a special place in my heart, even more so now.
Oh yeah, my sister played there too and got married and the park/community center in the same complex!

We were lying in bed just waking up and he said, “Do you know what I want to do today?” I said I didn’t and he said, “I’m going to go ring shopping and then I’m going to propose.” He’d been talking about this non-stop for a couple of weeks and I was kind of tired of it, so I said “Yeah, sure, go ahead.” So he put my nine year old in the car that afternoon and they drove to the store we had decided to purchase the ring at when the time came. I told him this was a bad idea unless he had deep pockets, and sure enough, she picked out an $11,000 dazzler! Thank goodness cooler heads prevailed. He had to go back and pick it up the next day. The day after that, he drove me to the restaurant where we first met, and after dinner he got down on one knee, read me a poem he wrote, and asked me. Eveyaroubd us clapped when I said yes. 💕

My fh and I talked about getting married for some time before we got engaged. One day we went to the mall and we were walking around and he said to me lets go in the store meaning the jewelry store bc I wanted to get some information about engagement rings. I said ok. So we went in and he got his information. Once he got his information he said go and pick out your ring. I was like ok and I picked out my ring. Then we was planning on how he we was going to tell my mom once we get the rings back from them sizing them. Moving forward we got our rings and we were still keeping our plan to tell my mom. We get to my mom’s house and we went to the kitchen to talk to my mom, and my dad just went downstairs to his man cave. After she finished talking to my fh she turns to me and said what new with you and my fh said this is what is new and pulls out the ring. My mom was beside herself. She started saying OMG OMG OMG. As he was getting ready to propose on one knee she said wait a minute Calvin! Calvin come here you got to come here. So my dad comes upstairs with this look on face like what do you want I was cracking up at my dad bc he was doing his on thing in his man cave my dad’s facial expressions are hilarious. My mom was like he is going to propose to Lisha so he got down on one knee and he propose to me in front on my dad, my mom and my grandfather. I said yes. We didn’t tell the rest of the family until Christmas Day if 2018
