Promise ring as wedding ring

In some ways I think it's really beautiful that the promise is now being kept and taking on beautiful new meaning, on the other hand do keep in mind that if you don't get a new band now, it may not happen for a LONG time. Is the promise ring a durable material? But ultimately, if you like the idea, that's all that matters with something as personal as this. Heck, some people just tattoo rings on these days! It's really completely up to you!!! But if you actually want a new wedding band, don't for a second feel bad spending for one.

Yes it's very durable and I love it! I just don't feel like spending the money right now on mine since within two years I got my promise ring and my engagement ring

I was debating whether or not to even buy wedding bands and just use my engagement ring for the ceremony. We ended up buying my band today, though, but I think it's totally fine if you use that ring!

We did the same thing! I got my promise ring two years ago, but after getting pregnant and having my daughter it didn't fit anymore. So instead of buying me a new ring, he got my promise ring sized and proposed with that. So special! I've even found a band that looks great with it :-)

@punkin beer he wasn't planing on proposing for another 3 years after he gave me my promise ring but changed his mind. That's why he spent so much

It's honestly up to you, whatever ring you use. I wanted a new ring. I had a promise ring for several years before getting my engagement ring and it was getting scratched a lot. So happy with what he got me. It's simple and he didn't spend mega bucks on it. If you want a diamond, my secret is find a decent uncertified diamond. I made my fiancee do that, and he spent probably half or even less than half of what it would normally be. I love it and he didn't spend a fortune!

Use whatever ring makes you happy. We were going to do this, but changed our minds because my mom explained the me that she would never want to upgrade her ring after her marriage because it meant more to her that she got married with that ring and wouldn't want to change it. So I picked her ring I wanted now instead of waiting.

Use it, it is beautiful. Clearly means a lot to you as well. I love it. I think that is a very sentimental gesture
