Professional makeup worth it?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to spring for professional makeup... I want to go with a natural look (my FH hates the heavy makeup look—and I'm not great with makeup so I go really light on it usually), but I'm worried my usual look won't photograph well. What's your experience? If you got...

What's your experience? If you got professional makeup application, was it worth it? If you didn't, how did you feel about it on the day of? Thanks!!

Its is definitely so worth it. Its a special day and you want to feel and look your best in person and on photo. A photo lasts a long time, I am a free-lance make artist and being able to provide a look the bride is going for is definitely one of the best traits a professional makeup artist can have. It is YOUR special day and everything should go YOUR way Smiley smile

I was in exactly the same situation. My FH convinced me to do it because he doesn't want me regretting it once our pictures come out (especially since we are paying so much for the photography).

So worth it. Your MUA can keep it light.

I don't wear makeup ever and I'm getting mine done professionally. I'm hoping for a natural look too, but also keep in mind that they may have to cake it on a bit so it shows up in photos.

It really depends on you, if you comfortable and can do your own I recommend doing it yourself.

I skipped it and don't have any regrets. I didn't spend money on any new make-up. I felt beautiful on my wedding day and make-up photographed well.

I was skeptical about having someone else do my makeup, but on the day of the wedding, I was a shaky, nervous wreck, and doubt that I could have even done my own makeup...lol! I definitely recommend it!!

I did my own and do not regret it one bit. I hady

Makeup done professionally two weeks before for a wedding I was A BM in and I HATED it I didn't look like myself at all. My makeup on my wedding day was exactly how I wanted. I invested the money I would have spent on a Mua on high quality makeup and it was the best choice for me

1,000,000% yes. It was the first thing I told my FH I was not budging on; that I wanted to hire a company who would come to our venue and do all the girls hair and makeup. I have had 2 trials with them and was blown away each time. I know that whatever happens that day, at least we will all look phenominal.

Yes, of course it's worth it! Looking pretty in person and good photographic makeup / hair are not the same thing. It's worth hiring a very good stylist!! Plus the applications make for nice photos.

I haven't had the best experiences when getting it done professionally as a BM. I almost never wear makeup. I have a cousin that is good with makeup (does other family members make up). I trust her to do mine, so I plan to ask her. If she agrees to do it, I will ask her to do it for my shower or something else as a trial.

I wasn't but I changed my mind and I'm so glad, there's no way I could do my makeup the way she does even if you want natural makeup they know the tricks to do it light but still enhance your beauty, I think it's the one day you should stand out so I say if you can afford it then go for it
