Printing Wedding Invitations

Stefanie, on August 31, 2019 at 10:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

So, I downloaded a beautiful template off of Etsy to print my own invitations...they have a black background and they're gorgeous. When I went to print them however...I guess I can't use just any print place. I need a really good printer; because when I got one printed it was super splotchy and streaky.

Has anyone done a black template and where did you get them printed? What do I need to look for to get a quality enough printer to do the job?

Thanks!

I had my invitation templates printed at printrunner.com. I was happy with the quality and pricing.

I had a chalkboard timeline printed out from CVS. It was also from an Etsy template. They came out great. I used the custom 5x7 invitation template in card stock. They had a 40% coupon so I got 20x done for under $17 with envelopes.

    Hey Stefanie!

What type of paper were you using to print your invitations? If your entire background on your invitation is black, then that is A LOT of ink that needs to be supported on a piece of paper. Try getting a heavier card to print on so that it is easier for the ink to dry into.
