I haven't done premarital counseling, but I used to see Cara Kenny in Lansdowne (Leesburg). I liked her a lot, and I know she does couples.

@Michaela; FH and I started it a while back ago, we go like every three to four weeks. It has honestly been great! We too have a great relationship, but I found that when we fought we didn't fight fair so to speak. Both having lived on our own and single for so long I know it was a personal adjustment to sharing my space with someone. It was nice just to hear from someone else that what we were feeling was normal and also taught us how to fight fair...no name calling.

@Jaemi: I know I have a hard time saying what I mean to say. I feel it always comes out wrong because I overthink it. SO then I just say nothing until I get so annoyed with something it comes out sounding really naggy and dumb anyway. I need to be less passive and more straitforward without making him too defensive since I KNOW I'm not perfect either. See.. I over think everything!

PS does anyone know of god therapists in the area that take insurance?? DH has been wanting to go (and I would prob join him later) for the issues with my MIL (UGH!)

Hey Ladies ! I'm from Reston. YAY NOVA! I posted yesterday but I don't think it went through. FH and I are doing the engaged encounter through the Catholic Church. Its open to all couples and they have a location in Herndon as well as Gaithersburg.

I live in Fairfax and attend Fairfax community church. We did our through the church but it wasn't over the top Bible beating it was more of true relationship counceling and is friendly to both church go-ers and non church go-ers. We really loved it.
