Pre-wedding Stress Male vs. Female

Melissa, on July 14, 2019 at 12:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Hi All, so I was wondering what the 100 days mark looked like for everyone stress wise. I feel like since February I've been stressed over wedding planning, but now I'm starting to relax and get excited for it! My fiance is in the opposite boat, he's now getting stressed over the financial bits of it. Which truthfully I find a bit funny because when I was stressed over that, he told me it'd all work out and told me not to worry lol what has it been like for everyone else especially the Oct. 26th 2019 brides?!

    1) You're getting married on my birthday, so congrats!

    2) Neither one of us have really been stressed because we're not over the top people. I will say that when my fiancee sees that countdown tick closer to 0 days, he does freak out lol. To him a wedding was a concept over a year ago and becoming more real by the day.

Neither of us have been overly stressed, though I think I've had more stress than he has. He is not super hands on and my parents are paying for it graciously, so really the hardest part has been trying to listen each other out (my mom vs my fiancé) and finding the sweet spot.

It has been stressful from time to time planning and budgeting then add on work lol. For sure planning a wedding is a full time job. I think I and my future husband found a balance and took a break ever now and then from wedding stuff. It has not hit both of us that we are getting married it will hit when we say I do lol.

    Yay! Date twins!!
I feel like I have SO MUCH to do. I literally keep having bad dreams that it's my wedding day & I forgot to order "XYZ".
I still have almost all my decorations to order & probably a ton of other stuff

It's kinda the same for us. He is freaking out about money now, and I'm stressing about getting things done. We'll get there, though.

I have FH I’m his stressful job, he’s a high end trial attorney, and the home improvement nightmares too. He gets stressed when I ask about the dang guest list- NEED TO GET IT THO!
I can’t imagine how it’ll be when we hit the100 day mark- 430 days out for me.

I am super stressed because cause I am driving to Upstate NY from VA- 7-10hr drive each way, doing full time school online, dealing with health issues, family crazies/drama, kittens that want me to love them but I’m teaveling too much, and planning the wedding 95% alone. There ya go. Can’t wait for HIM to have the stress too! Lol.... is that mean of me? Lol

I’m stressed because I want everything to perfect but I’m trying not to be a bridezilla about it, and he’s not stressed at all. We are 81 days out 😊😬

Well FH has been letting me do my thing for the most part but lately hes a couple times a week he'll say something like "what do we have to pay this week" Or "What else needs to be done" lol I would rather have him just let me take care of it though because he will definitely end up getting more stressed than I do!

October 20th bride who by the wedding day will have had a 22 month engagement. The first year, we paid off the venue and deposits for everything but were lazy about paying off everything because we said it would "all work out." During that time, I was working doubles and throwing money in savings but wasn't really thinking about the exact amount I needed to save. We paid most of it off by January of this year and realized we still had more left than we would like but since my fiance was blessed with a great new job after finishing school we were still able to have everything paid off by last month. While it all worked out, I don't recommend for anyone to do what we did. It's so weird because I'm such an organized, stick-to-the-budget planner and the stress of losing weight and planning a wedding overwhelmed me so much that I didn't allow myself to think about it too much for the entire first year of our engagement lol!

I'm close. October 13th for me. FH has stayed pretty much out of the entire planning side of things except when I asked for opinions. The one thing he has pretty much stressed about since the beginning was finances. I am more so now just because we are coming down to the final payments. Its been nice because honestly our wedding is pretty much all paid for. Its just our lodging that we are paying for now. We have about 900 to pay for catering and 510 for bar (but they won't take payment until end of event. then $350 left on DJ. All the rest that is due is for our cabin (which we have till day we check in to pay so thats helpful.

Similar with my FH, except in terms of plans that still need to be attended to. Before he kept telling me that none of it mattered. Now that we are less than two months out, he's starting to really get his act together in terms of things that he was initially interested in doing (suits, rings to a certain point, and I'm sure he'll be hopping on playlists next).
