Pre-wedding beauty prep

Erin, on October 20, 2019 at 10:30 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 36
Okay, I’m two weeks out from my wedding and am definitely planning on the mani pedi. I think I might get my eyebrows waxed (not sure how far in advance that should be done). What else is good to do before the wedding?! What do you plan to do in the days leading up to your wedding?

Just be careful waxing eyebrows. I get them threaded. Ive waxed my eyebrows in a few different salons and have been burned. The marks eventually went away in about a week but it literally looked like i got into a fist fight thats how ugly they looked.

I get really red and swollen when doing my eyebrows, I’ll do them a week to 4 days in advance. I’m just doing the same you are, I thought maybe a facial? But I’m not even sure. Some people like to get tanned (I’m not doing that)

Maybe a facial or if your pasty white like me a spray tan would help not look so ghostly

I’ll be doing a wax probably a week before and then mani/pedi the day before. If I can afford it, I’ll probably do a massage the day before too. I would be careful with a facial this close, and anything new for the first time. You may have a reaction or break out.

Since you’re still 2 weeks out, I would get a facial if you can swing it—this way any redness has time to go away before the big day. Also, now would be a good time to get your hair trimmed and your color touched up if you color your hair.

I would schedule the brow wax for a week out so any redness or swelling has time to subside, and the mani/pedi for only a day or two before so it doesn’t have time to chip or grow out.

A brow wax a week ahead would be good. I did a massage and facial a few days before my wedding so I could have a few hours to myself and it was amazing.

A facial for sure ! I’ve heard from makeup artists that they recommend a dermaplanning facial as it smoothes out your face. I would get it done like now though just in case you get a reaction or something..

I did a full body sugar scrub, it was a waste of $50 and I could have accomplished it at home with the $10 sugar scrub my husband gave me for my birthday. So skip that & do a sugar body scrub at home. 1 month before, I did botox. 1 week before, I did a lash lift & tint (wouldn't suggest doing this unless you've done it before and know how your eyelashes react), an O2 facial (didn't irritate my skin at all) and dermaplanning (this was AMAZING & made my skin so smooth and makeup go on so well). I don't wax, so I just shaved at home after the scrub (or plucked my eyebrows myself). I did shellac on my toes & acrylics on my nails. Then at home, I consistently moisturized my lips, face, hair & skin all week using lotion, lip mask & cuticle cream. I also did teeth whitening strips.

Yikes! Definitely sounds like threading would be better, but what exactly is it/how does it work?

Its a method where the thread is wrapped around the hair and plucked....def cant do it on your own....so much better than wax. I would google around your area where a salon would be. Im in nj and we have a bunch

Nice! Yeah, I’m not sure about getting a facial either. I have a charcoal mask and a facial sugar scrub at home. I might just use those. If you decide to get a facial, do you know what you would go with?

Thanks! Have you done spray tanning before? I’ve never been, but I guess I’m just afraid of looking kind of orange?

That sounds like a great prep routine! I will take your advice on doing a body scrub at home and moisturizing like crazy. Teeth whitening strips are a great idea...and it sounds like a lot of people are recommending derma planing - might be worth it! Thank you! PS- if lashes don’t respond well to a lift and tint treatment, at least there’s falsies!!😉😂
