Postponing wedding

Keisly, on January 19, 2020 at 9:10 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
I just found out I am pregnant lol definitely not planned!!! We already have a 7 year old and I definitely wanted to wait after our wedding this upcoming November, now I want to postpone because I don’t want to be pregnant and or I want to be able to enjoy my bachelorette and bridal shower with my family and close friends... has anyone ever had to do this before? What were your first steps?

If you’re pregnant now you won’t be in November. You can still have a November wedding without a problem, drinking during a bridal shower maybe not.

I think my biggest thing is also loosing weight and finding the right dress.. I think planning a wedding with a newborn and a 7 year old will drive me crazy lol... but my mom keeps telling me to just have the wedding

You have to order dresses usually 6-8 months out anyway. I Would start now before you really start to show, and tell the consultant you’re preggo and to order it a size or two up just in case. Maybe choose a more forgiving silhouette like an A line. It’s easier to take a dress in than to let it out by a long shot. And when baby is born, take care of you and don’t worry about your size, hubby will love you no matter what.

Congratulations!! That's exciting! I'm in your exact shoes. Except I don't know my due date, Im thinking August which my wedding is in October. But I also want to lose weight and enjoy our big day with confidence. I'm thinking of postponing until May because a baby and a wedding are not cheap! But also this is #3 for me so I have my hands extremely full! If I push back until May that is 9 months post birth so I can have time to go dress shopping.! But I'm waiting to contact my vendors to see what my actual due date is. Good Luck! Definitely not part of our plan either!
