Postponing wedding, again, we're expecting! To send postponement and announcement together ?

Tia, on January 2, 2021 at 4:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

My hubby is a native of France, we had met here in the United States and then I lived with him in France until we ultimately settled here in the U.S. about five years ago. We always said we would have our wedding celebration in France with majority of my hubby's family as I have a small family here. We chose a venue abroad and set a date of Oct 2020 to be married in France.
We were in the midst of planning and then the pandemic hit and like so many others, we had to postpone our wedding.
We sent all our guests postponement cards with our new date August 2021. However, we just found out we're expecting ! Of course we are over the moon excited (and surprised!) yet as we're due Sept 2021 we have to postpone our wedding a second time.
We need advice.
Do we send the postponement and announcement together (and maybe just not specify any new date for now for the wedding) ?
Or, is there any way to keep the second postponement somehow vague so we can then send our announcement separately.
Any ideas on wording appreciated!
Tia.

I would be upfront if you already sent a postponement date. Maybe put it in the same card but save your money and do something electronic. Congratulations.

I would do it all as one otherwise you are going to spend so much more money on not only the cards, but also the stamps to mail them.

Those are two separate things. Send the announcements electronically. If you have a wedding website, there should be a feature to update guests of the postponement via email.

Thanks everyone !! We decided we will announce both together. We want to send cards by mail to all our guests but will tell close family and friends in person. Does anyone have suggestions on wording we can use on the postponement card ? (As it's our second time postponing, we were thinking of not specifying a new date)

Also as we're postponing second time we want to keep it short and lighthearted.. we were thinking of this:
SPECIAL GUEST (our plus one)Surprise! We're expecting... Our wedding schedule for Aug 2021 will be changed to a future date. We will be in touch when we make new plans.

    Any input appreciated! Smiley smile
