Postponing July Wedding

Maddox, on March 28, 2020 at 6:14 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2
So myself (m, 22) and my partner (m, 23) were planning to get married at the end of July in Pigeon Forge. After a great deal of conversation, we both agreed to postpone our wedding plans until things calm down and the future is more certain. I know it's a long time away and things could get better, but I also know that, even though we're only inviting 20 people, we're getting married in a place with lots of traffic and had people attending who would be more vulnerable to the virus. It does worry me the amount of people not taking this situation seriously, especially when they're getting married so soon and have large groups (upwards of 75+). I just wish people would be more responsible and realize this is serious and that you can still get married without the big celebration.

For us, we're just going to pay for an ordained individual and are going to do something for just us so we can still marry and then schedule something in the distant future when everything calms down.

I hear you. I was originally getting married on June 12th, but with all the uncertainty we decided to postpone. I think it's great that you and your significant other are still going to get married, but have the celebration later

I think your decision is very smart and responsible, Maddox. How is the rescheduling process going? Have you chosen a new reception date? Are you feeling good about your new plans? Will you video or live stream your private ceremony?

I'm sorry you had to make this call but it's a smart way to avoid stress and confusion over the coming months. Smiley heart
