Postponing fall weddings

Mireya, on July 7, 2020 at 10:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
Who else originally had your wedding set for the fall but are now postponing due to COVID-19? What I really want to know is, what is your new date? How far are you postponing it from your original date?

We postponed our fall wedding from November 2020 to November 2021. We postpone an entire you out because A) I 100% percent want a fall wedding & refuse to consider any other season and B) many vendors are booking up 2021

Really thinking about waiting a whole year also cause I really want a fall wedding but my fiancé doesn’t want to wait that long. But honestly we might have to anyways cause this COVID stuff doesn’t seem very likely of clearing up anytime soon Smiley sad

Totally understand the struggle. We went back-and-forth on our decision. Ultimately, deciding to wait another year has made things soooooo much less stressful. Couldn’t stand the constant are we or aren’t we. Plus, now that we have postponed, we have an entire year to save more money and add lots of extra things to our wedding!

Originally was a May bride, then October. And now, we are honestly discussing January 2022.

We postponed from September of this year to May, 2021 (in MA). We actually had very little choice in the new date due to venue and vendor availability in 2021.

Speaking from experience, we went from April 2020 to August 2020, and now we might be out a whole lot of money from the venue and we have to postpone again. Just keep in mind that big weddings will probably not be safe for awhile, and you don't want to lose your money due to a stubborn venue.

A lot of reasons. I don’t want to go through the same thing next year of wondering if it’ll happen. I’m just really burnt out on wedding planning and talk, and with so many postponements, 2021 dates are limited. We are getting married in a small town in Texas, so we don’t have the luxury of multiple vendor options.

We're hoping to proceed with a small ceremony/dinner on our original date of 10/10/2020. For the larger reception, we're looking to reschedule that in a year or two.

After planning this wedding for over two years and having to change plans, I really don't want to invest more time into planning something until things are under control.

We moved from 10/10 to 5/30/21. We were trying to hold out but our state is now considered a hot spot and the cases are continually rising everyday.

We are still planning to have an intimate ceremony on our 10/10 date and have the big ceremony next year.

We postponed from 10/10/20 to 6/12/21. I'm not confident that things will be any better in the spring of next year, but my venue didn't have much availability.
