Hi everyone,

Are any April brides pulling the trigger and postponing their wedding?

My wedding is on April 9, 2021 with the church ceremony in NJ and the reception in Philadelphia. We plan on having no more than 140 guests.
I keep going back and forth of what to do because vaccines will be distributed to healthcare workers next week (atleast in my area I heard they are) and I feel that we are in the bubble of us being okay in April but also hearing different things. I was going to wait to decide but am scared if I wait too long we won’t get any availability for 2021.
How are all the spring brides doing?

We are getting married in San Diego, CA 4/25/21 & our vendors are not flexible so the show must go on. We already pushed back from an October 2020 wedding so we’re hoping April will be much better. We rented a venue that holds 300+ ppl for guest list of 100. At this point my 2 biggest concerns are that ppl won’t show and that we will catch covid at the reception. We leave for our honeymoon the next day so a little concerned but over all just hoping for the best. We are intoxicating better circumstances by then and will likely make mask optional but temp checks mandatory at the door. Best of luck to us all

Jaime, I completely feel your anguish. How about this one, I had my wedding invitations printed with the venue address, date and time and he called and said covid shut him down and returned the money. I am having a do-it-yourself wedding. What a mistake, so I finally hired a coordinator that said no matter what she will not leave my side.. GOD BLESS HER!! We have delivered invitations and hope that we can return the money back to the venue that he rejected due to covid.
I thought I was so smart a do it yourself wedding family cooks bring dishes (BTW we have amazing cooks in the family and a baker) My nephew would do my cake all would cost under 6000.00. HA, says covid not this time. Hopefully, all April weddings will commence as plan. I’m keeping the faith ladies!🙏🙂

So my wedding was supposed to be on April 4th 2020 but 2 weeks before it got cancelled . So we postponed to June and then we had to postpone to September 2020 and for the third time we had postponed it to April 3 2021 and I’m not sure if that’s gonna happen and it’s really upsetting. I really don’t want to postpone again but honestly that’s how it is looking . We don’t want to cancel and we are not sure what to do because we can’t keep postponing.

We cancelled our April 2021 wedding in late October. I have no other plans at this time. I would recommend cancelling since safety of guests are not guaranteed. We lost over $3k on it, but a small price to pay for safety and well being of our family and friends.

I’m in MD wedding date is 4/17/21 with guest list of 200 people. The wedding and reception will be outside and very socially distant. I’m planning for the 200 but venue is flexible enough that I have a plan b and c option (if guest list needed to cutdown or if small ceremony) haven’t sent out invitations yet waiting for end of January to see world status also vendors are flexible

My wedding is April 3, 2021 and I talked to my venue, they said I can still reschedule but for right now, we are keeping the date. We are going to have around 100 guests but that might go down because people will be still worried to come. Our ceremony is outside as well but the reception inside. I am still nervous, but we are planning on getting married no matter what on our date and just reschedule the reception later if needed. We are also worried about our Honeymoon because we are doing a cruise in Europe... but we are hoping for the best and keeping everything planned for now.

I’m still having my wedding on April 3 but it’s going to be small wedding with 50 people. The venue is going to be outside the lake close to my home.

Our wedding is scheduled for April 9, 2021 and the venue told us that once we are 75 days out we’ll make the decision on postponing or not due to state regulations. Right now in San Diego county, they’re not allowed due to the stay at home order. So I’m hoping with the vaccines coming out, and with some time, we’ll still be able to have our April 9th date. It’s been discouraging seeing so many other brides have to postpone, and we’ve been planning for nearly two years so it seems like such a headache. Of course, we want to celebrate with family and friends only if it is safe to do so. So we’re just waiting until we’re 75 days away, to see where we are at.

We're going to make a decision at the end of January, but I think we're going to try to push it back again to Fall 2021. It seems unlikely that we'll be out of the masks and social distancing phases by early April and we're going to give it one last shot to hold the wedding that we'd hoped for. We've postponed once already. Third time's a charm!

We are planning April 10th, and are cutting our guest list to meet standards, but are definitely planning on being married! Even if it is just the two of us and the priest we are moving forward Smiley smile good luck everyone!

I'm going to hold firm on my date in May. We had originally booked for April but later found out that our day was picked. Atleast this will give us an extra month to see where things are at. Crossing my fingers

I am moving forward with different types of plans for mine. We are getting married on April 3rd (4.3.21- HA!) in Idaho. Idaho has very clear restrictions on groups sizes depending on what "phase" they are in. We have a guest list and vendor plan for Phase 2 (10 guests), phase 3 (50 guests) and phase 4 (100 guests) and then no matter what we are going to stream the wedding (we have alot of people who might be willing to go to a local wedding but not travel and we want to be able to include our guests who live out of town!). The plan is to send out the invitation to watch it on a computer and then let people know as the date comes closer that they are invited in person depending on how many are allowed at the time. Fingers crossed, this is not an easy thing to navigate! I can't even imagine how this feels for the brides who had to postpone from last April- but hey! we get to marry people we love and that is an amazing thing. Smiley heart

We’re still planning as normal. I spoke with my venue and they’re planning on going forward with events which is pretty crazy considering I live in California. We’re thinking probably around 200 people will show up. My wedding is April 17th. I’m not enforcing anyone to wear masks but they can if they’re more comfortable.

We postponed to October, but it was also due to family reasons. Our vendors were very easy to work with for a new date (we have only booked venue and photographer/videographer), and they did soft hold it for us for about a month until we were completely sure!

Our wedding is April 1, 2021 at a park outside of Cincinnati in Ohio. Our ceremony will be outside, and our reception will be inside. We’re planning on having no more than 90 guests. I really don’t want to postpone at all, I can’t wait to marry my fiancé. But we are going back and forth on if we should require masks or not. If it comes down to it, we’ll only have our wedding open for CLOSE family and friends with a Facebook live stream for those who couldn’t be there in person.

We are moving forward with plans for a Vegas wedding on 4/17/21 with no more than 50 guests. Everything is planned outdoors and we will be providing masks/sanitizer as favors.

Our wedding was scheduled to be 4/10/21. We decided a couple of weeks ago to postpone the big party. We will be getting married at the courthouse on our original wedding day, but are going to have the big party and ceremony one year later so that we can still experience the big day with all of our friends and family.

Mine was in April and I postponed because I have many folks coming from out of town and even Mexico City and I don’t feel like travel will
be easy or back to normal by then, besides some folks affected financially with the pandemic. November is my new date.
That is my situation personally, but if you have all local folks and not such a big guest list, if you have healthy precautions, it’s up to you!

I have planned to decrease my wedding size to 70 and the rest will watch virtually! However, if we still have family members not comfortable coming, they can also watch virtually.
