Hi everyone,

Are any April brides pulling the trigger and postponing their wedding?

My wedding is on April 9, 2021 with the church ceremony in NJ and the reception in Philadelphia. We plan on having no more than 140 guests.
I keep going back and forth of what to do because vaccines will be distributed to healthcare workers next week (atleast in my area I heard they are) and I feel that we are in the bubble of us being okay in April but also hearing different things. I was going to wait to decide but am scared if I wait too long we won’t get any availability for 2021.
How are all the spring brides doing?

We're having the church ceremony as planned with a small dinner. We postponed the reception until November, my international guests are not going to be able to get here in April without much of a hassle and we won't be able to celebrate the way we want to, so fingers crossed for the end of the year.

The state we had planned to have our small ceremony and reception in, is not issuing any marriage licenses to out of state couples at this time, so unless something changes we will have to reschedule probably for early fall
    Im praying for devine intravention.

So we’ve decided to relocate to another private venue that’s available. They said the original will not be able to hold our wedding now. They’re both under the same catering/management company here in San Diego. However, this process has become a NIGHTMARE. Much has changed about our wedding - we were told the new location doesn’t have a liquor permit so we were given a $300 “discount” so we now have to provide all of the alcohol for the wedding and we’re 60 days away and barely learning this. It also states that we are now responsible for clean up the night of, after the reception. Initially we were paying a cleaning fee and they were to load up our car with all of our decor and things and then we’d pick it up the next day. Now we have to do it ourselves and take it home the same day. So I guess I’ll be cleaning the night of the wedding in my wedding gown. Our new contract also has a “Confidentiality and Non Disparagement agreement” stating we cannot post anything about the agreement or anything negative or critical of their company, staff, business standards, or services or we’ll be help legally liable. We haven’t signed it yet but we will have to because it states that if we don’t then they’ll assume we are cancelling and then we lose our money, no refunds.
This explains why there’s no negative reviews for the company or venue. I am at a loss, I’m worried my wedding is no longer mine, and I’m uncomfortable with this entire non transparent, shady process. We are still getting married April 9, with them, because we can’t afford to lose the money we’ve put in. If anyone else is getting married In San Diego feel free to message me privately if you’d like more info, so you know which company to NOT work with.

We are still on for 4/9/2021. Cut the the guest list to 80 and will seat our in-person guests by household/frequent interactions. Requiring temp checks and masks/will enforce social distancing. Praying for the best!

Encourage April 2021 brides to do what's best for you and your fiancee! This is such a difficult time and decision, but ultimately it's about what's best for the two of you.
    Best wishes to all!!
