Hi everyone,

Are any April brides pulling the trigger and postponing their wedding?

My wedding is on April 9, 2021 with the church ceremony in NJ and the reception in Philadelphia. We plan on having no more than 140 guests.
I keep going back and forth of what to do because vaccines will be distributed to healthcare workers next week (atleast in my area I heard they are) and I feel that we are in the bubble of us being okay in April but also hearing different things. I was going to wait to decide but am scared if I wait too long we won’t get any availability for 2021.
How are all the spring brides doing?

My wedding is scheduled for April 18, 2021. It is hard to say what will happen with everything going on. I am having my planning meeting next week with my venue. As of right now we are still planning as it will happen on our scheduled date. We are having no more than 70 guest and will have to have guest wear masks to stay safe.

We’re actually going out to Joshua Tree! Even eloping is tough right now. The National Park is closed, but we’re getting married on private property with a ton of land out there so it isn’t affected! You just need an officiant, really, and you could elope anywhere. I’d recommend court houses, but even those are closed near me in LA. I am still wearing my gown! we still have our profesh photographer so I still wanted to wear my gown for this day.

Our wedding was supposed to be on 4/4/2021, but we have decided to postpone it. I couldn't risk putting our guests in danger. We may just elope and have a party later. Or just see how this all plays out and hope for a fall wedding. It sucks, but we decided to take this time to work on our relationship and enjoy being engaged.

    Smiley heart

We are moving ahead with plans. Our ceremony is outdoors and under a large pavilion. Our reception is in a large hall. If things get worse or don’t get better we plan on making to-go plates and people can stop by to congratulate us and get some food.

Our wedding is set for April 30, 2021. Our ceremony and reception are both outside which helps us a bit with the federal restrictions but since we live in California and things change on a daily basis it's really hard for us to say what's in store or what to expect. We're moving forward with our plans at least to get through the craziness of the holiday season and then see what next year is looking like. I feel like restrictions may be pulled back by April but again, no one really knows. We may start planning for postponement in February if things really don't look good for us. Trying to stay positive!

We are not. Getting married either way. Our venue still has us at a smaller capacity, but we aren't having a huge wedding anyway.

How long are test results taking to be available where you live? It’s been taking 5-7 days where I live for anyone to know their results! I have Covid, I had quarantined because I knew I’d been exposed, but my test did take 7 days for public health to contact me, and they lost all the tests they did 2 days before me on my SIL so they don’t know!

We are set for 4/22/21 and at this point I have no plans to postpone. Our venue is mostly outdoors (with option to be all outdoors if need be) and we are having 45-50 guests. We will likely ask everyone to get a test in the 2-3 days prior just for peace of mind, and hopefully a handful will already be vaccinated (lots of nurses in the group). Masks for those who feel more comfortable that way.

Good luck all you lovely brides!

We’re still getting married on 4.3.21. We are planning for an outdoor wedding, but if we have to get married in the hall it is big enough for people to socially distance. We’re not changing our plans. The date is important to us.

My original date was November 2020 and I’m in LA County, California, so I don’t think I’ll postpone again. I’ll either go to Las Vegas with just the bridal party, or just elope.

Our wedding is outside, and we have cut the guest list. However we are still ordering all of our invitations in case things get better. We are locked in by choice.

Thank you for asking this question! It's so nice to hear what everyone is doing. My wedding is April 17th. I plan to go ahead with it unless state regulations change and I am forced to cancel. Originally planned to invite over 180 guests but my venue has asked us to cut that down to 100. They've also suggested we move the ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors which I am heavily leaning toward, even though it might be chilly.

I have no desire to cancel my April 10 wedding but of course I also don't want anyone to get sick. For now, I'm trucking ahead and regardless of what happens I am at the very least getting married that day. If we have to wait a few months to celebrate with everyone, then that's what we'll do. But I'm not waiting longer than I have to get married - I want to start this next chapter of my life!!

I’m getting married on April 17, 2021. We will be having an intimate close family wedding at a small church. A bigger reception with friends and family. For our one year anniversary we will be going on our honeymoon due to it being canceled this year.

I am planning on having my wedding! 4/29. Our wedding is going to be out of state for 99.9% of our guests, which will probably bring the guest count down to 55%, so we have no concerns about having a max guest amount. It’s also outdoors/in a barn setting. Dependent on how the covid situation goes I’m understanding of friends and family that don’t want to travel, however will be livid at the family that aren’t abiding by social distancing guidelines/ avoiding mass gatherings but will not attend the wedding because it’s an inconvenient for them travel and book stay.
