Postponement announcements??

Alyssa, on April 21, 2020 at 11:00 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 8
So we finally decided to postpone! Curious to know how you ladies are “announcing” your postponement/letting your guests know about a new date in a fun way. Had to postpone my wedding a full year... I’ve texted all my friends, but wondering how to get that info to the rest... postponement cards? I would put it on our website, but almost no one checks it. Thanks! Sending love to my fellow postponing brides xox

Since you already sent out some text messages, it seems easiest (and most consistent) to continue doing that for the rest of your guests.

We just decided to postpone as well. We let our immediate family and bridal party know via phone call or text and are working on putting together a re-save the date to mail out to all the guests.

We just made the decision to postpone our June 19th wedding last weekend. We called or texted immediate family and our wedding party and posted an announcement on social media. We also ordered postponement/save the new date magnets that we will mail out to everyone.

We texted and called bridal party and family and also posted on social media. I just ordered new save the dates to send out as well. I would check out wherever you may have gotten yours from if you did save the dates... a lot are doing reprinting for free. I used Shutterfly and got completely new ones for free!

This is so good to know because we did our original invites through Shutterfly! I wonder if they would do free save the dates instead of invites. We did our original save the dates as magnets through Etsy. I’ll have to ask them. Thanks!!

Their chat feature for customer service on their site was really easy. I would think as long as what you’re ordering is cheaper or equal to what your invites were they will. They even gave me credit for free shipping so I literally spent nothing.

    Hi Alyssa,

That's a great example of a postponement above! You should consider borrowing the verbiage as you said. In general, couples are choosing to handle the date change several different ways. Here are some existing discussions with other brides with various ideas/suggestions:

    - Change of date cards
