Postponed Weddings

Arlene, on March 22, 2020 at 7:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
To all brides that postponed their wedding. Are y’all doing new STD and/or invitations? Our April wedding is now in November. I was really upset at first bc now our wedding is on a Sunday but all of our guests have been very supportive and don’t mind at all. Our guests have been notified of the new date but I’m not not sure if we still need to do everything all over again as far as STD and invitations. My original colors were dusty rose and greenery now I’m thinking about doing more a fall color theme. Is everyone sticking to their original theme or are you changing it?

    We are doing invitations.

Since we had to call everyone anyway, we just told them our new date.
Our colors are staying the same. Gonna be a Halloween party now. Though our original wedding had a lot of black in it anyway.

    Hi,
I'm June and spent alot on invitations. I'm sending mine out with a note. If we have to reschedule I'm planning on doing a digital invite. Alot of people actually RSVP right to your wedding website now days. That way they will see the beautiful invites send everyone is aware of this tragic issue we're facing. If you bought from minted I heard they are redoing for free. Good luck!

    Hi,

Luckily I have not sent my invitations out yet. I already sent Save the Dates but am thinking of letting guests know that we have to postpone - it's supposed to be May 30th but looking more and more grim as the days go on. I got my invites from Shutterfly and reached out to them today. They are reprinting my 3 piece invites - Invitation itself, details card and RSVP card, for FREE! I just have to pay for shipping. I am very grateful for that, it was a bright spot in this very difficult time.

    Good luck!

Today we decided to postpone from May 30th to September after we sent the invitations earlier this week 🤦🏼‍♀️ We are texting our guests and will send out a Change the Date card in the next few weeks that has our new date and RSVP date (online RSVP). Zola is offering free change the date cards if you ordered with them. We aren’t sending out new invitations.

You can get free, online change the dates if you’re interested. Or you can just tell your guests the date has been moved and send out invitations, I don’t think you need to spend the time or money on new save the dates unless you want to.

Zazzle is offering free re-prints of invites and STDs. So, I'm going to resend STDs. Minted is only offering a 25% discount to reprint my invites, but I'm going to reprint those as well.

I sent out my save the dates for my old date and was about to send out my invites before I changed my date. I sent out postcards with my date change. Good luck!

That’s awesome. My fiancé vetoed the idea of getting married on Halloween. It wasn’t really my first choice, but was thinking more fall colors in our southern park.
