Are you having a vow renewal with reception to follow? Or are you skipping the ceremony and having reception only? Are you wearing your wedding gown, etc..?

I’m leaning towards a vow renewal and then reception, which is was we originally planned (we eloped pre Covid while planning and June 2020 wedding), but I think my husband might be more into reception only at this point. Need to check in with him. Our elopement was lovely but city hall didn’t allow us to do personal vows. I missed out on that in front of our families and friends.

We had a tiny ceremony last year with a few friends and family. My sister streamed it on Facebook live but it was last-minute, so only 10 or so others saw it. We didn’t do any personalized vows. This year we are using our postponed event date to do a vow renewal with a reception after. Though we had our absolute most important guests for the “micro wedding”, a large majority of people we also care about didn’t get to see the stream/weren’t present. I also didn’t wear my dress last year because of the casual nature of our “micro wedding”, so I’ll definitely be wearing it in July!

We did a minimony last November with mine and my now husbands parents. It was short and sweet and so happy we still got married. But this November we are doing a full ceremony (not sure if we are calling it a vow renewal or what) and a reception to follow. Basically keeping al our original plans

Hello! I'm doing a vow renewal followed by reception. We had a minimony last year and it was fun! But I didn't get to wear my dress so I'm wearing that, doing a simple vow renewal and then we'll have the reception in the same place! Everything was all set last year then the pandemic. We simplified everything. We condensed the ceremony and reception to be at one place while still having a pastor renew the vows (we were originally going to be at the church and then drive to reception) . We were going to have chiavari chairs but opted for regular chairs with covers and sashes. We learned to keep things simple and to not care about things like that. Our venue even gave us lots of freebies for being loyal and sticking it out during the pandemic! We're hoping things work out so we can have fun and move on! 😆

My husband and I also had a “Minimony” in May 2020. It was just the two of us and my FIL that married us there. It was a very special day for us though we didn’t say personal vows. We wanted to save them for our ceremony with friends and family. We are having our wedding and reception in August 2021. Which will still be small with 50 guests this time (state COVID mandate for indoor weddings). But at least some of our family and close friends will be able to attend.

I'm doing a vow renewal. I am not giving up the experience of walking down the aisle with my dad to my husband just because we had a minimony already!
