Postponed - Date Wrong on Everything

Jennifer, on March 31, 2020 at 9:59 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 3
Just like so many others, the coronavirus forced us to postpone our wedding from April to July. Because we were so close to our big day when we had to postpone, we already had our favors/gifts that had the original date on them. I’m looking for cute and clever ideas for how to alter the date.

Examples are cuff links, collar stays, (blue) embroidered dress label, “just married” wooded sign, magnet favors and a framed printed watercolor drawing of us. Somehow I need to transform these things. 😞 Suggestions please!! 🙏🏼 Thank you.

It might be more helpful if we knew what your favors were. Are you looking to alter the date on your already existing favors?

Hi Alex. I listed every item out in my post. 🙂 These are definitely existing items, hence why I need to alter them.

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm so sorry to hear that you had to postpone your wedding. I can imagine it's very disappointing. BUT you are not alone!

There are several discussions about dated decor items, so you may find some inspiration in any of these conversations:

Smiley star What to do about dated favors

Smiley star What to do with wedding decor with different date

Smiley star Re-purchasing items with dates after postponing wedding

Here's my two cents' worth of thoughts/ideas:

    - cuff links - These could be the guys' version of something old

    - collar stays - Will these actually show in a photo? If so, there are some affordable replacement options on Amazon.

    - embroidered dress label - I wonder if the embroiderer can add the new date.

    - “just married” wooded sign - Google "writing on wood" for ideas and tutorials. It looks like you can use special pens, markers, etc.

    - magnet favors - Could you add a sticker with the new date on top of the original date?

    - framed printed watercolor drawing of us - Is the frame engraved? Or does the date appear on the painting in watercolors? I'm not sure I understand. Either way, could the engraver add the new date? Or could the painter add your new date to the painting?

    I hope this helps you!
