I'm kind of excited about the song I chose for my father-mother-daughter dance (I plan to have my mother cut in so they both get to dance with me). It was staring me in the face all along since it's (supposedly) the song I was named after!

"Nathalie" by Julio Iglesias

The original is in Spanish but the relevant translated lyrics go:

I feel like this especially speaks to me because while I have great childhood memories, I have grown somewhat distant from my parents...including physically since I moved across the country!

This is a really sweet thread!
We haven't decided if we are going to use it for the first dance yet, but my song with FH is "Your Song" by Elton John. I love the whole song, but it became "our song" because of this line:
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

The first time I realized I was in love with FH is when I was looking into his eyes and thought about how sweet they were. It just really resonated for me.

DH picked this as our first song, as well!
I am still not sure why, but we also don't really have an "us" song. It's a great first dance song, though.
Now, my dad always used to watch Dirty Dancing with me, when I was a kid (it's cool, I only figured out why when I was in my late 20s, and then I was like, "RIGHT. I'm going to go cry, now."). So we danced to a (cut to be appropriate) song from the soundtrack.

I love DH dearly, but my dad IS a better dancer, and I left the dance floor a little dizzy from twirling a lot!

I chose "That's How Strong My Love Is" by Otis Redding for our 1st dance because of the lyrics!! I love that sentiment! 💖
"I'll be the ocean so deep and wide

I also love 1 + 1 by Beyoncé and wish we could have used it for our 1st dance but I didn't think my mom would be ok with how many times it says "make love to me" in the chorus. 😂
