Post wedding picnic $?

Colleen, on June 8, 2016 at 1:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

We are having a Friday evening wedding, about 50 guests, adult reception. Many people are traveling from out of town. We are planning a picnic the following Saturday afternoon followed by a boat ride (Niagara Falls Maid of the Mist! One of my favorite things!!). We will be getting food from grocery store catering department and plan to pay for the boat tickets for everyone. Younger guests/children will also be invited to the picnic.

The Park now charges $10 parking fee. You can park in a different area and walk over. Its a nice walk over a foot bridge, not too far. How do we advise people? I don't want to pay for everyone's parking and don't even know how we'd go about it. There is no pavilion or anything, just show up and pick a spot in the lawn.

Wow. I don't know what to say but this seems like a second reception... Interesting.

I don't think you have to pay for parking. Any weddings that are downtown in a major city would also have to pay parking so I don't think that would be uncommon. Maybe you can include a map with parking information?

Are the same people invited to the picnic as adult reception?

How are you inviting the guests to the picnic? I'd just include an info card with the invite that says what you've said here: "Parking in the lot is $10, or you can park for free at X location."
