Post wedding photo shoot

Samantha, on January 14, 2019 at 5:03 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 5
Hi all!

My wedding was December 1st, 2018 and it just so happened to monsoon ALL day (like hurricane type rain) and I didn’t get to get so many pictures I wanted due to this. We did manage a few but nothing compared to what we should have! My photographer offered to do a post wedding shoot for us because she felt bad, and I wanted to see if anyone has any cute recommendations. Getting back into my wedding dress (hair and makeup), renting a tux for him, etc is just too much so I was hoping I could stir around some ideas. TIA! Smiley smile

I would do the whole wedding dress and tux again. In my opinion you’ll need to buy a nice dress or cute outfit, maybe white or some color if you don’t have one then have him match you and even spend money of this if he doesn’t have one and then pay for hair and make up for your shoot or at least make up if you usually do it for shoots. Mind as well rent the tux again, maybe try to get a discount by explaining the situation, you already have the dress just do hair and make up. No one would know this was not taken on the wedding day.
If you did not get all the pictures you wanted I say go for it. You’ll have plenty of time for all normal shoots down the road.

I would do it! There are tons of cultures all over the world that do their wedding photos either after or even before the actual day of the wedding!

    I’m considering this as well!
More of for an anniversary either for our first one this year or for one afterward.
Ours is mainly due to having a not so great photographer along with a not so smoothly flowing wedding day. 😫If only I could just go back in time and fix things with the knowledge I know now...if only 🤣 Things happen though. Such is life. & I agree with you. I thought about the entire ‘wedding dress, get the same tux rented hubby had on the day of’....but then I looked at the cost that would be on top of photographer cost and fees, potential travel fees for her and us to get to the location (if not in town), any additional print charges and edits..etc it just ended up being too much. For us at least. So I told husband he can wear one of his suits or even just dress nicely in a dress shirt/slacks or even a nice pair of dark jeans and buttonDown & I found an ivory dress from saved by the dress that I fell in love with for a VERY affordable price. That way I can still have a wedding/romantic vibe but without wearing my actual wedding dress and risk damaging it, getting it dirty (or more Dirty 😆) and/or even having to worry about it’s poofiness (since it was a ball gown and quite difficult to walk in). I also would love to try and do a couple candid shots of us just in casual dress like we would wear on a normal day if we were just hanging out and take some pics like that after our more formal ones to makeup what we weren’t able to capture on our wedding day. Regardless it’s really up to you. On what you envision for your photoshoot and what you’re not only most comfortable spending on the shoot but also what you would be most comfortable in and able to relax and most importantly have fun. Have fun getting the shots you would’ve liked to have had on your wedding day along with making new memories with your SO and more photos/memories to last forever ❤️🥰
