Post wedding chop!

Mrswelch, on January 21, 2018 at 3:41 PM Posted in Married Life 0 26
If anyone else is thinking of this I highly recommend it! After carefully growing my hair out for almost 4 yrs and avoiding doing any crazy colors for the wedding, I FINALLY got to go crazy and do something new and funky and get a cut! It was such a relief lol. If there’s something you want to do with your hair after the wedding, do it!

If you’ve done it, feel free to post your new style here! I love to see new hair-pirations!

That looks great! I've been dying to dye (heh) my hair for the last 4 years too! I've held back after I got a professional job, but I recently had to quit due to us moving. After the wedding, I'm going pink!

I think I'm keeping my purple highlights for the wedding. Matches my colors lol. I did consider if 10 years from now I would regret it but I've had it for 2 years now and wanted it forever so I don't think I'll regret it. I've been dying it some variation of red for 15 years, since I was 18, so that I definitely won't regret. I might add some green and blue after the wedding.

I only grew mine out before the wedding so it would be long enough for my hairstylist to do the hairstyle I wanted. About a month after the wedding, I cut it back to be at my shoulders and was so happy.

I had my hair with red in it for my wedding. My Mom posed the same question, but I don’t regret it yet! The photos looked great with the hair. I’m sure you’ll look beautiful!

Same! I wanted an updo and needed as much length to my hair as possible to get it. Previously it was bobbed, by the wedding it was around my butt lol. I was THRILLED to get it cut in a bob again!

If you still want it short, maybe do a little bit shorter with layers? See how you both like it. Smiley smile

I’m so excited to chop off after the wedding and do a red violet color again. I wanted to look natural so since being engaged have only dyed my natural color (to hide the greys that are starting to come in )

    Thank you Heather!

@OG Gretchen- Lol, I had it short for a while. I’m so glad to have it short again!

@Dancingonwater- I feel you! I wanted a red color for the wedding but ended up deciding on like a dark red, more like a mahagoney. It was hard to stick to it until now! I almost cut and dyed my hair anyway lol, even if it meant totally changing my vision for my hair on the big day.

Fun colors are out due to my work. But I donated about a foot after the wedding, and H also cut his hair shortly after.

I'm definitely going to be cutting mine after the wedding. I complain almost on a daily basis (more so when I'm brushing it) to FH about how I can't wait to cut it. He loves my hair long, but it's driving me CRAZY. I only have it long for the wedding. After that, chop chop lol

It wasn't too drastic, but I chopped off about 5 inches after my wedding! It felt soooo good!

I chopped off 9 inches after my wedding and donated it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. It's been about a year since I chopped it and it's almost all grown back.

PSA for anyone chopping and donating (which everyone should do)- DO NOT DONATE TO LOCKS OF LOVE. They're a huge scam that claims to donate wigs to children but they actually charge money for the wigs. Pantene Beautiful Lengths makes real-hair wigs and really does donate them to women who've lost their hair due to cancer treatments. They're a great organization, and I did a lot of research before choosing who to donate my hair to.

Your hair looks amazing! I love the color blends and the length! I will probably also grow out my hair to be long and a true brown/dark for the wedding, and then maybe ill dye it pink afterwards who knows! I get easily bored with my hair and have chopped it off and donated it almost every year for about 3 years now, it is going to be so hard to just grow it and grow it ugh.

ABSOLUTELY!!! The first time I donated (5th grade) it went to locks of love (my moms stylist chose that because they were familiar with it) after doing more research, my 7th grade hair donation went to Pantene beautiful lengths. 10th grade donation also went there. However senior year I had dyed my hair a few times and it wasn't long enough for these two, so I found CWHL (Children With Hair Loss) to donate to. They take Dyed hair, only has to be 6-8 inches, and they will send you goodies (t-shirt, bracelet, patches) if you make a donation! They are my new fave hair donation because it goes to kids!

You both have gorgeous hair! My FH has curly hair too, but it gets insanely poofy when he grows it out, he can't handle it! lol.
