Possible wedding space too big

We would really love to have my wedding reception at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge (specifically the grand ballroom). The space can fit 300 people, and were expecting between 120-150 guests. I’m really nervous that the space will be too big for our guests. Any thoughts/advice on how to fill the space? Should we look into another venue? (We haven’t booked yet, but are set on the Stone House).

We fell in love with the whole atmosphere, rustic yet modern which is what we’ve been leaning towards.

    I think you'll be fine! Having extra space is much better than having not enough. You could add a photo booth, dance floor, a nice backdrop, or floral arrangements to fill the space!

    I personally don’t know the venue but most venue as full capacity is usually too much. There’s always ways to set up the tables that fills up more the space and have a bigger dance floor. I think is important to talk about this with the venue as I’m sure they don’t only rent it for people that have 300 people. I also recommend looking online for references of other weddings photos. I think is fine!

    You could always see if they can put the tables closer together rather than too far but it's nice to have extra space

    Max capacity for any place is normally very tight so you will probably be OK. You could have tables of 8 instead of 10 so you have more tables taking up more space and you could have a larger dance floor and a photo area.

    I'd rather have extra space than not enough!! I'm sure there are plenty of ways they can arrange the space to make it feel just right

    I would say a large dance floor and maybe a photo booth, different stations where various activities can be taking place!
