I LOVE line dances with a burning passion! In my experience, a good electric slide, cha-cha slide, cupid shuffle, Macarena, will get the crowd up and moving like nothing else. The whole reception doesn't need to be line dances, but a few sprinkled throughout can really kick up the gear a notch for the guests!

I'm definitely not a good dancer but personally I love certain line dance songs! Cupid shuffle, the wobble (excited to get all hyped with college friends) and copperhead road for FH. I'm also not in the best shape so I've gotten winded at other weddings playing them back to back, so maybe try having one played after several songs in between.

I can't stand the typical wedding "line" dances/songs. I head to the bar whenever they come on. None of those songs will be played at our wedding (with the exception of Shout because we love to jam to that song, but I don't consider that a line dance song).
I personally don't think those songs are needed to get people on the dance floor. If you have a good DJ or band who can read the crowd well and have a wide range of music (our DJ will be playing everything from 50s and 60s oldies to classic rock to indie to old school and new party/club music), then guests will definitely be on the dance floor.

I am a music and dance lover of all genres. I am happy as long as there is a good mix of music and types of dancing!

Hate them. They're the reason we're even going to have a Do Not Play list. There are no other songs on that list except line dances.

I used to do country line dancing all the time until our local country bar closed So I always love if I can do it at a wedding! But I'm not a hugeeee fan of the Cha Cha slide/Macarena/those types. That said, one or maybe two can really be fun and bring people together especially if you've got a crowd that will participate. My favorite of the "popular" dances is Cotton Eyed Joe, it's impossible to do without laughing
