Poll: Line Dances

Line Dances were on my DO NOT PLAY list for the DJ.

I like the cotton eyed joe but that's really all!

I never turn down the chance to dance to one, but I didn’t have any on a MUST play list. I told my DJ if he felt he needed to throw one on to get everyone up, I was cool with it, but there were a few I was absolutely against. Fortunately everyone was up on the dance floor with out them, so he skipped them.

My family and I love them!!! We will most definitely play them at our wedding, especially the slides and shuffles.

Do it. Line dances are fun and get a lot of people on the floor including people that wouldn't be on the floor otherwise.
Some people won't like it and won't participate but that doesn't mean others should miss out. At no point will EVERYONE be on the floor regardless what you play

I LOVE line dances, group dances, etc... We have many people in our family who need to know what to do, in order to dance. So very fun for all of us!

I love anything that gets people out and having a good time! Sometimes that's a line dance, other times not.

I love them for the same reason! I am horrible at dancing and line dances are my only hope. My friends and family really get into them as well!

I can never seem to stay onbeat but I DO ABSOLUTELY LOVE line dances. FH and I plan to practice a bit before the wedding since eyes will definitely be on us.

Line dances are the only way my FH will dance! I love the wobble, cha cha slide, Cupid shuffle, and everything like that lol 😂

I’m definitely playing the Macarena because its a family favorite. And he wants the cha cha slide. Do what you love!

I grew up doing line dances. I love how they get lots of people on the dance floor.

Not a fan personally because I can't dance for the life of me and line dances make it super obvious that I don't know what I'm doing.

The line dance we have is called El Caballo Dorado, which is just the Spanish version of Achy Breaky Heart. It's a lot of fun to watch and cheer people on. I'll probably have it at my wedding, but it's definitely more of a later in the evening song, when people are loosened up and the dance floor needs its second wind.

Wow. I have always really disliked line dances and I kinda cringe when they come on BUT after reading so many of your comments that you all really enjoy them, I will not ban them from my reception and let the DJ decide if the crowd “needs” them - I hope not but it sounds like they are dance party CPR, ugh 🤣😂🤣

Absolutely hate them. Probably the fastest I've seen the dance floor clear when one has come on

I am such a sucker for them! I love the chacha slide, electric slide, and cotton eye joe! I will for sure have those on my list to play! But I am adding one that I do not I think I have ever heard at a wedding is The Time Warp! I love the rocky horror picture show and do the dance every time I watch it!

I enjoy them, they allow everyone to be able to dance even if they don't feel confident just getting up there and "feeling" the music to tell them wheat to do. I love dancing, and so does the entire family I'm marrying into. Our first dance is going to end up looking choreographed to anyone who doesn't know what we are doing. To be fair we have been practicing the type of dancing we are going to do, because he grew up dancing that way and I didn't. After the reception we are going to a barn dance, a lot of square dancing, but also other types. We are opting for a DJ for the reception, but the barn dance has a live band.
