Police “theme” ideas??

Jenny, on August 12, 2019 at 7:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
So, my husband to be is a police officer. For years I have talked about incorporating his job into our wedding, but without making it a full blown “theme”. So far we have a late night coffee and donut bar to be set out. We have the handcuff and engagement ring came topper. I will have a cute police theme sign at the donut bar, and a sign at the bar saying “its not a good party till the cops show up”. It is a fall wedding (10/10/2020) so my colors include navy blue. I’m just wondering if anyone has any other good ideas that I could possibly use!!

You could get him a groom's cake. I think other than that you don't need to so much more.

We went to a wedding where the bride had one of his uniform patches sewn into the skirt of her dress. She was able to lift the bottom of the dress and show everyone if was there. (It was sewn in upside down so when she lifted the skirt, it was facing the proper direction. She took a few pictures like that). Although her dress had many bottom layers, so she wasn’t flashing anyone lol.

I've seen cute police themed engagement pictures & save the dates, garters, fun ties or socks for the groom & groomsmen, favors, table numbers, signature cocktails, etc. There are a ton of ways to incorporate it without being too much!

I already had him ask to use his cruiser for engagement pictures, and I want to do one where I have seen it be a dark picture with just the light in the background of the couples silhouette. I plan on doing fun socks for the groomsmen, and love the idea of doing a fun blue signature cocktail!! Thanks for the input!! Great ideas!!

We are 7 years away from his retirement....he's policed out and doesn't really want to see it at his wedding. I get it...I wouldn't want stethoscopes at my wedding either lol. I think he would like me to sneak a little something in tho.....he still buys me "police wife" mugs and stuff all the time so I think the patch will be a nice sentiment. Congrats!

My cousin is a police officer and had some touches of that in her wedding. The “favor” was a donation to Code Green in honor of their guests. Code Green is a mental health initiative for all first responders (our family is almost exclusively first responders: fire, EMT, ER, and police).
