Point Lobos State Reserve Wedding Ceremony

WWUser2016, on May 6, 2016 at 4:43 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 5

Has anyone gotten married or attended a wedding ceremony inside Point Lobos State Reserve? It's not the most conventional location for a ceremony and not sure if it is a good or extremely horrible idea. Guest count would be around 100 and there would be seating for guests. Only chairs are allowed at the site. No decor or anything else. Reception would be somewhere else indoors. Too inconvenient for guests?

It looks beautiful. Just think about if you have foul weather, what is your contingency plan?

How far would your guests have to walk to get to the ceremony site? Is it handicapped accessible?

The attached image shows what the parking situation looks like. Gray location pin is where the ceremony location is. There are 3 parking sites nearby.

If weather prevents ceremony from happening there, we'd have to move it to the reception venue.

I think it looks lovely but there are way less chairs than 100 in those pictures (looks like both are set up for less than 50?) and if you have 100, I would worry about parking - it doesn't look like there would be enough.

I’m interested in having our wedding at point lobos but wanted to know if there were other options for site areas within the park- preferably closer to parking and can accommodate 75.. any recommendations would be of great help!
