Please help me with ceremony decor

Trinity, on September 27, 2019 at 6:33 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17
I really wanted a simple alter for my ceremony. Unfortunately, due to popularity of my date, I was as only able to book this ceremony place. I am having a hard time trying to decorate. Photo 1-no decor. Photo 2-past wedding. How much does something like picture 2 cost? I am also trying to save money. Thank you.

To be honest I think you could even just leave it as is. If you really want to decorate you could use ribbon!

The draping is pretty nice. Look around for tool or sheer curtains.

    That's a very pretty venue!

I realize that it may not be your very first choice but there is sooo much that you can do to that space.

Here are some things to think about that may to help inspire you:

What time of year is your wedding?

    What are your wedding colors?

    What is your wedding theme?

What time of day is your ceremony?

Is it just the wedding or are you having the reception there too?

How many guests are you expecting?

Of course, Pinterest is a life saver for inspiration and there are lots of sites that have decorations and other things that can make your day amazing.

    Hope this is helpful!

I like simple too. I would do flower petals along walkway (Costco or Sams). Maybe some netting/fabric on the pergola? Or flower pots at front that you can take to reception if you’re having one? Check Facebook marketplace for cheap used wedding stuff or garage sale (bookoo for example) where people sell decorations for pennies what the paid.

Do they have pictures of previous ceremonies there that used little to no decoration, just for reference? I think the first picture is gorgeous on its own - it's such a lovely natural setting! Plus, it'll look more full with chairs and everyone there. Smiley smile

What sort of budget do you have for decorations? Some small touches to a few chairs along the aisle alone can make a difference!

Most of the people that had a ceremony with this venue is at a different location. I was able to find pictures for that particular location, but not this one. Great suggestion, I will ask the venue. Is $300 enough for ceremony decorations?

Does the florist do this? I am not great with DIY.

I really like the draping. I would go with hooks along the aisle with flowers or lanterns? At the altar itself you could create focal points with crates full of personal items or decor that matches your theme or different sized lanterns. You could also use potted plants.

Oooh, I gotcha! (PS, we're date twins - totally feel ya on the popular date forcing you to switch some things around.)

What sort of decor or vibe are you going for? Like were you thinking florals, or something more rustic? (For mine, we're going the more rustic route with wood/wine crates, lanterns, etc.)

Florals can vary in price, and you can go the professional fresh or DIY route. Just for reference, I got a quote for 10 pieces of aisle decor (greenery for some of the end chairs) at $15 each.

My venue is also letting me borrow some vases/potted plants and will move them to the ceremony location for me. They're also letting me borrow some lanterns. Maybe ask and see if the venue has anything they can let you use.

As PPs mentioned, the fabric drapery is lovely! Florists often do the arch decorations, but they can get expensive, and this is something you could totally do on your own - though I haven't priced out fabric myself, so I can't say how pricey that part would be.

Oh wow! The drapery totally transforms the pergola! You could totally do that part yourself. If you're not super comfortable with DIY projects, could you enlist someone in your bridal party who is good at decorating? You could go to your neighborhood fabric store and buy similar fabric, and they usually have in-store coupons! Depending on your date, you could also wait for sales since the draping doesn't really require a lot of follow-up work.

I second PPs posts about some nice potted plants with big fluffy blooms. You could totally recreate that look for less than/about $300!

So pretty!! I would do the drapery and then flowers like this on the chairs and rose petals along the aisle. It will add a good touch without breaking your budget

This place looks beautiful. Number 2 looks expensive but I personally think you could do something cheaper with candles and flowers. Definitely talk to a florists. They’ve done so many weddings they should be able to give you lots of ideas.

If your getting married next year, you can stalk after Christmas or New Years for sales on decorations.

My venue has a similar set-up, but I have an arbor instead of pergola. I’m doing greenery and floral on the arbor (all creams, whites and soft green), then similar things on every other row of chairs and white rose pedals lining the walkway. Simple, clean and romantic

That’s awesome! Congrats! I want to do drapery and flowers. Thanks to everyone here, I am able to find what I like on Pinterest. It’s now a matter of the cost. I don’t want to spend a fortune on just the ceremony. I want the petals on the aisle. I read that can cost $50. Smiley sad
