Depends on which aspects of the wedding you're talking about. I think it's never too early to think about broad things like your budget, what season you want, people you definitely want to invite, etc. But a lot of other details you can't really plan until you have a date and venue booked. Most venues you look at will currently be booking for 2022 and maybe 2023 but probably not past that.

I got a June 2023 wedding and I got the venue and I'm already picking out some vendors who book 2+ years in advance (they're speciality services like live artists). Some of the vendors we have to wait until December to start contacting.

I’m September 23, 2022. I already picked my venue because I know alot of people had to postpone their weddings and I didn’t want to lose a 2022 date! Everything else is kind of in limbo until closer to a year out.

The 3 biggest stuff were typically planned/boked 18-24 months out :: set a budget, set a date and the venue untill 2020, especially in' big cities and their area during the wedding season . And vendors such as photographer,DJ oor live band were booked about 8-12 months out

Of course, due to covid, it's better to plan and book these earlier.

However it can be trickier when it comes to outfits because the 2 of you , your guys and girls (if you're having a wedding party) can gain or lose weight.

I started planning a week after he proposed. That was late December 2018. The wedding is this coming October, and literally 90% of EVERYTHING is done and confirmed. Zero stress at this point. I'm so glad I did it this way, I don't leave anything to the last minute! When my best friend got married, we were still making favors at 3:00 a.m. THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. She was woefully unprepared.

We are just under 1 year away and have venue, caterer, photographer, videographer, and band booked. Working on floral and decor now, and after that we shouldn't have too much left to do! I really wanted to get everything done asap so there is less to worry about later! If there is something important to you (like for me I wanted a specific videographer) reach out right away!! It's worth knowing you have them locked in rather than waiting and stressing about them being booked.

Really never too early! I have been planning since May 2019 when he proposed— Wedding is now only 25 days away and I feel calm, excited, and sooo much less stressed than 6 months ago haha... I also got my dress 14 months before wedding day! you do you!

Never is too early! I have had a pinterest wedding insiration/vision board that I have been curating for most of a decade. Once my FH and I got engaged I created a new one specific to the ideas that he and I both like and that we are planning on using for our event.

I started really planning a year ago, 24 months prior to our date. We are getting married February 2022. My FH and I decided on the month we wanted to get married (February) shortly after we got engaged and scoped out some vendors and venues starting last year but are only just now booking them. Theme/wedding colors, buying the wedding dress, general ideas about reception details, types of flowers for bouquets and centerpieces, and some of the other details that are not date-specific are done.

We only held off on booking our venue due to COVID restrictions but it sounds like that is a lot less of a concern if you are talking about a September 2022 wedding. A year ago things were a lot more up in the air!

    Have fun and happy planning!

My wedding is October 2023 and I already have a venue, a photographer, a DJ and a florist. I am working on a caterer but some arent booking that far out or they are more than my budget. Thankfully there is time. I am also slowly assembling decorations and attire.
