You don’t need any theme other than “wedding.” Can you be more specific? What questions do you have? Generally, you start with a budget and a guest list and you’d go from there to look at venues that can accommodate.

I have so many questions. We have a pretty good budget but the guest list we’re really struggling with due to personal reasons with family and stuff, but I know exactly how I want my wedding to look because I’ve been planning since I was little but I don’t know exactly how to describe it the best way I can describe it is magical enchanted fairy forest and I don’t know if I should get a wedding planner or if it’s even necessary

I suggest getting a few wedding planning lists. Tons are online, most free and they are in books too. The lists are good because they tell you what you need to do at each point of wedding planning. So you can see at the beginning you need to focus on the number of guests, the venue, etc. But don't even think of things like the cake or flowers until months later. There are so many moving parts with weddings that if you force yourself to only work on a few details at a time, it's much more manageable.

Are you having a local wedding? Do you feel comfortable picking and communicating wants and needs to vendors? If so then a wedding planner may not be necessary. A day of coordinator to help set things up and have the day run smooth would be a great idea.

But you are probably over thinking things. Lol it happens so fast with wedding stuff. Just remember from a guests point of view the scenery and decor isn't a huge impact. Having a seat for ceremony and reception (I've literally had no seat before), decent food/drink, and music/entertainment is all I need for a good time.
I would start with your guest list and look for venue who can accommodate that number and see if it fits your idea. Wouldn't want your heart set on a big enchanted forest wedding only to find out the enchanted forest wedding have a max if 50 people.
    Happy planning!

You don’t need to worry about having a theme. I don’t have one. I’d start with budget and guest list. Those are super important!

Before you look for venues, make sure that you and fiancé are on the same page as far as top 3-5 areas to spend attention and budget and eliminate everything else, and finalize the guest list. You can not look for a venue until you know exactly how many people you are inviting and what you can comfortably afford. Decide how much you are willing and able to spend without assistance from parents or a loan company. Decide who you cannot imagine spending the wedding day without them in attendance and do not invite anyone out of obligation to please parents who have already had their weddings. Many couples focus money and attention on the guest experience (good food, free drinks, and great dj) and great photos for memories.

Write down your questions and see if you can Google stuff in addition to interviewing vendors! If you already have a vision, then you can start to figure out where to go, what to buy, who can provide it, etc. That's how I learned a lot of things along the way, talking to vendors. I only have a day-of-coordinator because me and my sister and family is doing everything. Pinterest was amazing to really get a good visual of my theme.

Depending on the location you live I would recommend googling reception/ceremony venues and when you tour them in person each one should provide you with a quote with what they provide Smiley smile when things felt hectic I found an app that has wedding planning by “sunflowr” I found it really helpful. Also, if you find yourself not having enough time for things then yes it may be best for a wedding planner but if you manage things correctly and focus on tasks at certain times it can be less stressful. (This is my experience planning mine in 6 months)

Also some people get triggered unnecessarily by the word “theme” when it’s simply another way of saying “aesthetic” or “vibe”. Colors, seasons, fandoms, and the list goes on are all common popular themes that people have no issue with that keep the décor cohesive instead of looking like a random mishmash that doesn’t go together. It’s not anywhere near as offensive or out of place as it is claimed to be.
