Planning - when did time start going by fast?

Natalie, on October 30, 2019 at 4:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

My fiance proposed January 2019 and we are getting married January 2021. We already booked a lot of our vendors & I am just anxiously waiting for time to go by.

Do you remember feeling like the wedding was sooooooo far away while planning, then suddenly it's right around the corner?? I can't wait for that to happen! I feel like once we are one year out (in January 2020 here in a few months) the time will start to go by quicker.

When did you start feeling the "It's so soon!" jitters? I just can't wait Smiley smile Smiley heart

3 months for me. Everything dragged for so long then we hit 3 months and then I feel like I blinked and it became 2 weeks, and then blinked again and it was over 😂

Try to get as much as you possibly can done before then! Seriously 3 months is when it gets CRAZY

It felt "so far away" from 1.5 year out to 6 months out. Then the last 6 months FLEW BY! We got vendors done fairly quickly then when it came to being 6 months or less out, you're getting invites ready & starting seating charts & planning honeymoon, focusing on skincare, doing dress fittings, etc. so you are way busier! When I was farther out, I wish I would have focused more on smaller things like lists of decor & what to bring the day of, etc.

We just passed the one year mark last month, since then time has started flying by; like literally where did October go? I think with the holidays coming up too time will for sure start to go faster!

I haven’t gotten the “it’s so soon” feeling yet although I do feel like time is moving fast and the weeks are flying by. I have almost everything done as far as wedding planning goes but I think it will hit me once we get everyone in the wedding party dressed (dresses and tuxes ordered). I’ll let you know once I’m there 😂

I felt that way last month when I sent out the save the dates! I know that the holidays will fly by and then I'll have less than 5 months to go. I'm sure the Minnesota winter will drag on and on worst than most years, only because I'm really looking forward to spring Smiley smile

We got engaged in March, waited till about August to book the venue, things seemed to go by so slow up until now! Our one year mark will literally be next Thursday and the thought of it is making me anxious! Lol.

I also agree that things started going by fast around 3 months! Probably more around 100 days. Once we hit double digits it went so fast! Now I am at single digits and can't believe it's almost here!!!

Once we hit double digits! We started at 14 months out. About 3.5 months out I looked and realized we are in the double digits! We are now at 22 days from our wedding day and the nerves are maddening. One more meeting left with the DJ next week, and all is done!

We got engaged Christmas 2018 and we booked our venue in February and we were like we have plenty of time to do everything else. Our date is October 3rd, 2020, less than a year now and I’m like welp looks like this came around a lot sooner than I thought.

It felt like it was forever away for me until we hit a month out. Now we are two weeks away and I cannot believe it is almost here after 1.5 years of planning!

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have a physical "to do" list, I more just focused on things in this order:

    1. Venue & Guest List & Budget

    2. Main Vendors (caterer, officiant, photographer, videographer, baker, hair & makeup, florist, DJ, transportation, hotel block, DOC) & Save The Dates

    3. Dress & Accessories & Finish Wedding Website & "propose" to wedding party & pick BM dresses.

    4. Inspiration pictures for florist & caterer & DOC (caterer took care of linens & china)

    5. Other Vendors (rehearsal dinner, nanny on site, chair masseuse for getting ready, breakfast & lunch for bridesmaids/groomsmen) & Invites

    6. Honeymoon. Begin dance lessons.

    7. Buy decor & write list for DOC on what goes where. Buy gifts for wedding party & parents.

    8. Groom & GM attire.

    9. Menus, Ceremony Programs, Welcome Bags. Packing for wedding weekend. Dress fittings. Song list for DJ.

I'm sure I'm forgetting things on this list but these were the major things!

    9. List for what we

We have 18 months between engagement and wedding. We are 9 months out now- halfway. I can't even believe it. It felt so far away at the beginning and like we were planning WAY too early... but man time flies.
