Planning wedding as if normal/ std question

Chelsea, on October 27, 2020 at 3:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I have finally completed my save the dates for my July 10, 2021 wedding. I am in Ohio and currently my hall is able to space everyone out. My hall fits 600 people. I have 220 adults and 30 kids.

Am I doing the right thing? I was planning before covid. My wedding isnt for another 8 months. Send off all the save the dates and hope things get better? How would you do it?

Worried if things do go back to normal that people would plan vacations and my wedding is in the middle of summer. Would rather give a heads up than nothing at all?

Yep. I would say continue planning as though things will be normal. If, for some reason they aren’t, you can make changes during the few months before the wedding.

I have no idea what im doing lol... So normally you send invites out 2 months before correct? So I should make that decision probably by early May? Im a graphic designer so Im going to make my own invites but dont want to waste paying for prints, stamps, etc.?

That’s what I would do – just reassess the situation a few weeks before invitations need to be sent out. Hopefully your venue is still able to accommodate all your guests. And if not, then you will have time to make the necessary adjustments.

Yes I would continue to plan as normal. And if anything changes (covid restrictions) then just plan from there

Yep. All we can do is plan like normal and adjust things later on. If you need to cut your guest list or postpone itll just have to be done in April or May. Unfortunately we cant tell what it will be like next July

I would keep planning as usual - that’s what I’m doing (our date is 4/3/21). We mailed out our STDs 9 months before our wedding & plan on mailing out the invitations in January.

I planned as normal but with COVID restrictions, my venue restriction allows 75 people but I only wanted 60 people at my wedding so it worked with me. If your venue hold 600 and your inviting 250 people they should have more than enough space to social distance if need be. Just keep plugging on, the people that want to be there will definitely be there no matter what. lol

I would also plan as normal for now. You can convey any changes in the future via mail, on your website, etc.

We sent STDs out in February just before/as this was hitting. In July, I sent out 'Change of Plans' cards to the people we could no longer invite (scaled down from 130 to 35). Invites went out about 7 weeks out, and we kept our website regularly updated with details.

Our wedding is in May in NYC for 120 people. We're sending out STDs next month hoping for the best. Worst case scenario we'll make some calls uninviting people . . I'm sure they'll understand.

Same as Biaani...we're planning as normal with 135 people, just outside of NYC. Sending STD's next month as well. I'm staying positive that everything will go as planned. Our website is up and we have a Covid Updates link. People will understand but sending STD's to my full list and will cross the bridge when we get there with invitations.

Keep planning, thats what we are doing. When it gets closer and things need to be changed we will make the changes. But, wedding is still 6 months away, for us. And your venue holds alot of people, you'll be OK even with the social distance.
