Planning in 45 days!

Rachel, on March 10, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hello!

My fiance and I got engaged two day’s ago and today decided to shoot for April 24/25 or May 1/2 depending on various availabilities.
We have talked about a court house vs. pop up and are still deciding.
We’ll be getting married in a small town. There are local sites a lot of people do pop-ups, all really on the water. Then we’d like to do a big crab and shrimp feast at a restaurant with an open bar, so anyone can order a different meal if they’d like. With just both our immediate families and a few select friends, we’re looking at 35-40 people or so.
Who is doing something similar?
Where do I start?
What do I need to not forget?
What is important to start ASAP?
Thanks everyone!!

I think it’s possible! My timeline was longer at 4.5 months but most of the big stuff, I took care of within the first 45 days.

I’d check for a venue first for sure to make sure your group can be accommodated on a date that works for you guy.

You can probably start getting your marriage license, most states are 60 days. I'd get a venue and a dress first, then worry about other things

Our timeline was 7.5 months, but you can do it. If you're going super small, start with venue/food, attire, and officiant. Everything after that is generally extra.

    Good luck!

Thank you! I'm looking at vendors now to decide if we want to go this route, or courthouse Smiley smile

Thanks @Rachael! I immediately checked after seeing this! I checked in the county we'll be getting married and it looks like there is a 2 day waiting period. I'm checking out venues and dresses now!

Thank you @Rebecca! It felt good to check so many things off the list I won't have to worry about! Working on getting all the puzzle pieces to fit with venue, food and dates mainly. I appreciate it!
