Planning Help

Logan, on March 10, 2022 at 4:27 PM Posted in Planning 2 5

Hi guys I am in some desperate need of planning help. So I originally planned my wedding in May of this year but my fiance is in the military and we found out he could be home so I stopped all planning until I could figure out a new date. We just found out now that he will be home now during that time. Do I try and cram in all the planning and try to make it happen still or post pone it? We want to get married when he comes home anyway before the deployment but I don't know if it is doable to plan it with only two months left. I have my NON-REFUNDABLE deposit paid and my dress already which was bought by my grandparents. If I post pone it then what? Do I still have a ceremony? Do I still wear my dress?

Get married now at the courthouse in your wedding dress and have a vow renewal ceremony on a milestone anniversary.

Do you have vendors booked for may still? If so I would plan for a wedding in may. I think you can pull it off if you already have a bunch of things

I have my venue deposit and my dress. I also planned the food but that’s it. I stopped planning since we were not going to be able to make it work in May.

How many people do you want to invite? Does the venue come with things like tables, chairs, dancefloor etc or do you have to coordinate rentals? How far away do your guests live? I think that if it's the best date for you, then it would be great to have the wedding in May! However, it will probably be hard to find vendors last minute. But food, venue, and dress are three with the biggest lead time, so it sounds possible!!

The venue, dress, and food are the most important things and since you have those... I say go for it!! You can get your flowers through Costco or Fiftyflowers.com and your cake from a grocery store bakery. You just may need to put a rush on invitations or if you order immediately should get them in time to put out beginning of April. Then work on a photographer and dj.
