Planning for Postponed Brides

Taylor, on April 16, 2020 at 2:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
To my postponed brides, when are you securing things like venue, caterer, etc? We postponed our June 2020 wedding to May 2021 and I’m so worried about people that planned on 2021 already booking their weddings and now there being an influx of 2020 brides moving to next year! The venue we are going with said a couple just booked next year, sight unseen...they didn’t even look at the venue in person, they just booked outright!!

Are all of your vendors not moving to your new date? That way you don't have to worry about find new vendors.

Secure ur vendors now. They should give you priority. If you wait too long the vendors you already had might be booked.

Honestly, take this with a grain of salt because I’m a crazy planner, but we’re getting married May 2021 and I’ve secured all our vendors already. We booked our venue in January but when all this craziness started I stopped dragging my feet and paid all our deposits to prevent people who are postponing to take the vendors we were interested in. Where are you getting married? Is it a popular venue?

Hi Taylor! I would definitely try to lock down all of your major vendors ASAP! Hopefully it's just connecting with your existing vendor team and making sure you're all aligned and agreed on your new wedding date. But yes - many wedding vendors are fully booked 12-18 months in advance, and it's getting even crazier with all of the rescheduled wedding plans!
